Inside the Mosque–Cathedral of Córdoba
This heritage site is amazing the blending between Islam and Catholic art and architecture is so well blended that makes us forget everything outside and feel a true peace of mind. Makes one think what is going wrong with the world? For sure GOD as an entity of good, just want every one to coexists in peace and do good, no matter what any religion says.
Please, I don't intend to offend in any way any one's belief, or start any kind of ideological discussion, this is just my point of view.
This is were the famous adventures of Don Quixote started, the attack on the windmills that he believes to be ferocious giants.
One curiosity is that each windmill has it’s one name, and the same happens with it’s windows.
And to celebrate Portugal victory nothing better than the iconic Tower of Belém on the bank of the Tagus River in Lisbon, Portugal.

Sintra, Portugal
I was taking photos of the windmills of Consuegra, when suddenly these cloud formation formed and start dropping some large drops of scarce rain, although it was very hot, I run to another position to try to capture the forming rainbow which didn't form completely because the sun was mostly gone in the opposing horizon.
The beautiful Grand Place in Brussels a fusion between Gothic, Baroque and Louis XIV styles, contrasting with the multicultural Brussels...
La Torre is a castle near Buonconvento and dates back to the thirteenth century and once belonged to powerful families of Siena.
The castle was completely restored in the second half of the 800, taking on its current appearance: it is made up of two buildings that overlook a large courtyard surrounded on two sides by walls surrounded by a moat.
Now they are doing new restorations who knows, maybe it will turn into a luxury resort.
Alhambra is really an amazing place where one can appreciate ant once the beauty of at least three different civilisations and Era's. It's just like an cultural overload...
Taken at the Castle of the Moors in Sintra.
This is the large water cistern that provided water to the entire castle built in the 8th century.
Not far from Sintra, hidden between cliffs and rocks rising in the clear blue sea water is one of the most beautiful beaches of Portugal the Adraga beach. In the low tide it is possible to explore the Horse beach (Praia do Cavalo) and the numerous caves only accessible during low tide. Around the sand and water there are several large black rocks giving this beach a mystic and ethereal look.
The sunsets on this beach are out of this world.
There is also this fantastic beach restaurant were one can eat fantastic fresh fish, it's almost alive when you choose it... :-)
Santa Maria della Salute or Saint Mary of Health as an amazing story that can be easily associate with it the famous masks of the doctors of the black plague.
The Torcal of Antequera Natural Park in Spain, is an amazing place totally sculptured by the water and wind during thousand of years, forming all this corridors and strange forms that sometimes it can become a real labyrinth.
Fire Canyon in Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada is a dramatic sandstone formation that showcases exactly where iron deposits seeped into the silica millennia ago, by an abrupt change from white to red. On this evening, the last throes of the sun shone right along that line of demarcation to illuminate the prominent snowcap of Virgin Peak below the clouds in the distance, while also showcasing the full moon above the clouds.
It was a blustery evening with temperatures in the low 50s and winds gusting to 30 kts, but it was a spectacular sight to behold, and true to Colorado Plateau form, within a week the high temperatures were forecast to be near 100°F.

While visiting Zion National Park for the first time, we took advantage of an opportunity to see Bryce Canyon under snow on New Year's Day 2020.
As seen here, the cloud cover was pretty significant in southern Utah, and Zion was socked in, so we decided to see the snow covered hoodoos at Bryce a mere two hour drive away. My personal favorite park is Bryce Canyon because of its otherworldly imagery, and this visit under a considerable amount of snow confirmed its position. Stunning visuals, relatively unpopulated trails and vistas, and easy access, made this a very worthwhile visit to start the new year off right!
Sunset at the Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone National Park.
The fiery colors of the setting sun match the near boiling temperatures of the spring water releasing steam that dances across the surface of the mat with the breeze.
About 90 minutes before this I was chatting with another amateur photographer who asked where I thought the best sunset might be, and I pointed him south toward the Tetons to catch the colors illuminated on the peaks (where I'd been the previous evening). I wish I had his contact info to apologize. This turned out to be far more spectacular than I imagined possible.
This is my take on the Sturgeon Moon of 2019. The full moon of August is often referred to as the Sturgeon Moon.
It was pretty incredible to witness this on Coronado Beach as the moon rose over the historic Hotel del Coronado. Though, I must confess, this image is a composite of two different exposures, one to get the detail of the moon, and one to capture the foreground, the moon actually appeared in this size.
The Hungarian Parliament Building, also known as the Parliament of Budapest for being located in that city, is the seat of the National Assembly of Hungary, one of Europe's oldest legislative buildings, a notable landmark of Hungary and a popular tourist destination of Budapest. It lies in Lajos Kossuth Square, on the bank of the Danube. It is currently the largest building in Hungary and still the tallest building in Budapest.
Pemaquid Point Lighthouse is so iconic that it was chosen to represent Maine in the 50-state quarter series a few years back.
Located in Bristol, ME on the southwest point of Muscongus Bay and southeast point of Johns Bay, it was originally commissioned by John Quincy Adams in 1827. It sits on 400 million year old gneiss rock that is painted by algae and pounded by surf.
Congrats on Explore!

Although small, Holgate Glacier is active.
On a recent catamaran tour of Kenai Fjords National Park from Seward, I was able to capture several images of this glacier calving small icebergs (known as growlers and bergy bits) into Ailik Bay.
Holgate Glacier is both a mountain and a tidewater glacier, meaning it fills a valley between two mountains, and it terminates in the sea, as shown here.
Incomprehensibly massive sheets of ice, the flow and calving generate an incredible amount of sound, nut unlike artillery fire, followed by large splashes. To get a sense of scale of the glacier shown in this image look to the lower right third of the image for three birds that are flying away from the calving portion.
Better yet, take an opportunity to go visit Kenai Fjords National Park. There are several options to experience this environment originating from Seward, Alaska.
The township is located on Canadian Shield and thus is marked with outcrops of igneous rock and evergreen trees. Although inland from both Lake Huron's Georgian Bay and Lake Simcoe, the township contains the Muskoka Lakes consisting of Lake Muskoka, Lake Rosseau and Lake Joseph, amongst many other smaller lakes.

It is said, that the castle have built in just a month during a transit by Archduke Maximilian of Austria. However, this legend could be refuted by historians insofar as the construction took significantly longer than a month.
The microbial mat is what brings out the most color in this, the largest hot spring in the United States, and the third largest in the world. During the summer the mats are redder, in the winter they can be dark green. The steam and water in the center are blue because of its sterility caused by the extreme temperatures.

There are few places in the United States where one can view feral horses in their natural habitat. The beautiful (and protected) horses that freely roam Assateague Island National Seashore, along the Atlantic Ocean, are tough enough to survive scorching heat, mosquitoes, stormy weather, and the remote windswept barrier island's poor quality food.
