I shot this tiny electric flame through an old translucent globe - for Macro Mondays theme; "Translucent". HMM!
Penone (born in 1947) poses with his iconic self-portrait from 1970. He was 23 when he asked a local optician to create mirroring contact lenses. They are not translucent, so the artist was temporarily blinded when the picture was made.

Apple behind a scratched plastic plate. So no the subject itself is translucent, but the surface in front of it.
A dried sycamore leaf, so dry it is almost ready to crumble. The textures and translucent quality struck me as so beautiful, I thought that a mono version might capture the fragility.
