Trambus - a mock tram on a truck chassis. Since 2003, the Trambus has been operating in Łódź as a bus on the route from Manufaktura through Wolności Square, Piotrkowska Street to Galeria Łódzka.

The vehicle is a replica of a historic Herbrand tram built on a Volvo chassis.

Nogmaals een pendeldienst voor de EMA museumtramlijn. We zien de MB200 Den Oudsten/DAF 9229 standaard streekbus .

Op 6 april 1982 werd de 9229 afgeleverd door Den Oudsten in Woerden en overgebracht naar Centraal Nederland in Aalsmeer alwaar hij op 19 april in dienst kwam. Vanuit deze vestiging deed de wagen vele jaren dienst in de gele kleur met grijze schortplaten. In de jaren ’90 ondergingen veel bussen van Centraal Nederland een uitgebreide facelift. De carrosserie werd gereviseerd, geschilderd en ook het interieur werd compleet vernieuwd. Met grote filmkast, een mintgroen interieur en met blauwe schortplaten reed de 9229 daarna vanuit de vestiging Uithoorn. In 2000 ging hij buitendienst, werd verkocht aan de Arnhemse politie, waar hij nog eens 11 jaar als mobiele politiepost diende.

De BRAM heeft hem teruggebracht in de jaren '90 outfit, en dit weekend was de bus terug op vertrouwde grond: bij het Haarlemmermeerstation.

In the absence of anything much to photograph during the Covid-19 lockdown I have been scanning my photos from 1975. My picture of Baker's VAL seems to have generated interest , and coach farmer mentioned their Harrington , so I have jumped forward a couple of years to find this photo of CDK409C.

I already had a photo from a slide of CDK409C taken in the Locking Road depot in 1973 which Tim has posted on flickr. I was very keen on Harringtons having owned Wayfarer NCV500 in 1975/76 , and so this may have been the first time I took a second photo of a coach as colour film and processing was very expensive.

Bakers had seven 1965/66 Bedford VAL14s with Leyland engines - four Plaxtons , two Duples , and CDK409C , a Bedford VAL14 / Harrington Legionnaire C52F new in May 1965 to Yelloway , Rochdale and acquired when only a year old in May 1966. It had a very long life with Bakers , ending up in Bridgwater depot , being taxed until January 1987. It seems to have been stored there for some time , before being sold for preservation in September 1996.

It is apparently owned by Bob Wingrove of "The Legionnaire Group" and has been stored in the poor condition it was acquired in.

Harringtons built 58 Legionnaire bodies , 42 on Bedford VAL14 chassis , 14 on Ford Thames 676E chassis and 2 on Guy Trambus chassis. 4 Bedford VALs still exist and only one Ford, JNK 681C , which seems to be in the same ownership as CDK409C and has been partly restored .

CNW155C is immaculately restored as a PSV with Kenzie, Shepreth.

LMG952C and 72MMJ are being restored as "Italian Job" replicas.

 

The WEMS Ford / Plaxton is KEX330G.

The Gold Coast University Hospital is very well serviced by light rail and bus transport.

Long de ses 24 mètres ce bus construit par le Belge Vanhool 🇧🇪 peut transporter jusqu'à 137 voyageurs ✨

Depuis mai 2021, deux lignes de tram' bus circulent. La T1 entre Bayonne, Anglet et Biarritz, la T2 de Tarnos à Bayonne.

993VRR was a Bedford VAL14 / Harrington Legionnaire C52F purchased new by Barton Transport as their 993 in May 1964. Max McSorley Coaches purchased it later and used it in Shropshire.

The Harrington Legionnaire was an 11 metres (36 ft) passenger coach body built by Thomas Harrington Ltd in Hove, Sussex between 1963 and 1965. It was built on three-axle Bedford VAL, two-axle Ford Thames 676E and two specials on Guy Victory trambus chassis. It was a square-rigged body with straight waistrail and five deep windows per side. It also differed from the Harrington Cavalier and Harrington Grenadier by having plated window surrounds, there was a large brightwork grille and twin headlights, a Harrington Grenadier-style front windscreen was used with a similar sized one at the rear. Above the windscreen was a destination box of illuminated nameboard and above that a prominent peak.

At the rear the illuminated nameboard was inside the rear glass and this was fitted the other way about to the front, meaning the first and last pillars had a pronounced forward rake to them whilst all the others were vertical. The Cantrail was flat above it was a roof section of very shallow curvature.

 

The Mark 2 which followed in 1964 for the final two seasons omitted this flat cantrail and had a roof of compound curvature, which reduced the tall square effect of the original but reduced space in the overhead luggage racks.

  

The design was never a success, and very few were built.

The first of 30 £600k Van Hool Exqui.City Hybrid “Tram-Buses” ordered for Belfast’s new BRT “Glider” network. The 18.6m long articulated vehicles are powered by a diesel hybrid system consisting of a 6.7l Cummins ISB Diesel engine and Siemens electric generator and traction engine. The vehicle was on public display over the past 2 days in Belfast City Centre.
