This shows the Midland Mainline before British Rail's short-sighted decision to lift the two slow lines, seen here on the right, leaving just a double track railway between Kettering and Wellingborough.
One track was subsequently put back a few years later, and now with electrification of the line to Corby, the fourth track has been re-instated.

The Phoenix Railway Photographic Circle exhibition at the Carnforth station visitor centre has recently been refreshed with a new set of pictures, located in the link gallery it displays 21 pictures showcasing members work with images taken across the UK.
GWR no. 5542 trundles alongside the river Dart at Hood Bridge, with a passenger and milk train for Totnes.
The Amsterdam Central Train Station (Amsterdam CS) opened in 1889 and is located in the heart of the city. Amsterdam Centraal station offers train connections to many domestic and international cities.
14A and DH59 cruise around the Monbulk Trestle Bridge as the 17:50 return service to Belgrave from Gembrook and Lakeside.

Having delivered the stock to form the InterCity IC874 departure form Budapest-Déli, station pilot 'Grasshopper' 460 032 would soon be replaced by the allocated train locomotive.

DH59 cruises away from Fielder, returning to Lakeside as the 17:10 train from Gembrook.
From the 26th of December 2016 through to the 8th of January 2017, diesel locomotives hauled the Lakeside to Gembrook section trains due to expected hot weather. Typically the diesels only operate trains on 'Total Fire Ban days' or to assist heavy trains to Menzies Creek, however for 2 weeks of the year they are rostered to operate these services.

Chengdu is the capital city of the inland province of Sichuan and has over 6 million inhabitants in its "metro" area. Sichuan borders on the Tibetan plateau and is far away from China's coastal provinces that have seen such rapid development in the last decades. The large population of Sichuan has delivered a lot of the workers to coastal factories.
Sichuan is now catching up. To spread China's new found wealth inland, the government is allocating more money to places like Sichuan. As usual this is done through massive investments in infrastructure and real estate, particularly in the capital city.
One of the products is Chengdu East Railway Station, from where high speed trains depart. As you can see, the station is still somewhat outside the urban area, where a lot of construction is going on.
I have not seen what plans they have for this area, but I would not be surprised if it soon fills up a checkerboard pattern of broad roads and highrise offices or flats. Almost all Chinese cities look like this and so do other parts of Chengdu. If there are any things specific to Chengdu, then these are its charming people and a few parks.

A reason which is dangerous in taking a position between two train carriages. But on the other hand the density of passengers can be seen from one of the windows of the carriage.
