At this place, just outside the city center, they train and learn safety skills to people working in drilling, emergency response and crisis management training for the offshore, maritime and wind industry. Here there is, among other things, real lifeboat drop, helicopter crash / overturn simulation in water and various evacuation scenarios in case of fire.

Not all training for new recruits was simulated, they actually had to do real action fighting against droids and drones all supervised by their officers, this choir was an extremely popular work that most officers would do with a huge smile on their lips...

Today it Is Irena Pinkeydot, BlueBird and Light-lopez turn to set up the course and guide the rookies through the maze filled with traps and robots, off cause al doids and traps would just give a non-leathal electric shock making the trainees pass out for a few minutes....

- (bluebird) Hey Irena, were we really this green as these guys when we started? I mean look at them they look like a squad of those 21st century black and white movies, what was his name now, Adolph Hitler, no Chales Chap, that is the guy was searching for...

- (Pinkeydot) No Tom, we were never that green, anyhow we didn´t have blue and yellow training suits when we joined, that is a new invention...

...oH you mean tho really aged movies, No, he was not named Adolph sine he was a Nato-commander during the first alien invasion war... Charles Chapman was the name of that black and white tramp.... but I think he was a relative of Adolph...

- (Bluebird) How do you know so many things about the past Irena? you didn´t get to know that stuff at pilot training???

- (Irena) well let´s just say that I had a lot of lonely time on my own as a child... sometimes I met creatures and they told me all kind of stuff....

- (Lopez) ...yeah but you are both wrong, his name was Chapman and he was a member of the humor troupe named Moony Peaceful Driving Amusement...

...Irena it is time now, stear the drone and bomb those fools with the Tangle-weave foam cluster bombs... it will be so fun to see these Chapmen chapman-around in sticky pus...

Holiday at last......

After a very busy peroid with exams and a tough trainingcourse it's finally seven weeks off. Beside of some daytrips we will spend the most of the time in the lovely garden that Marjolein created in our backyard. www.flickr.com/photos/marjolein1979/7472304652/in/contacts/

No one seemed to notice that during the CPR training part of today's company one day emergency first aid course that someone had apparently passed out in the background and landed face down! HFDT!

A prestigious Golf Club in Malaysia Langkawi island, the training course for the beginner.

#Theatre and the #empowerment of #socially #marginalised #people are two subjects that have been particularly relevant to me over the past few years. Two years ago, I attended my university’s theatre #troupe for three years and I’ve been working with #children with #autism spectrum #disorders for five years now. While #acting in the theatre I realised that it’s a very powerful tool in many #real-life situations. It goes without saying, that both in theatre and in real life, you often get to improvise, you have to be able to quickly generate ideas and to act flexibly in solving various problems. However, I’ve never tried to apply #theatrical approaches directly when working with autistic children. Perhaps it’s because I wasn’t introduced with clearly set out and articulated theatrical approaches to developing children’s #skills. “Inclusion in ACTion” was the project which provided us with a comprehensive theatrical #methodology of socially #vulnerable people #inclusion.

Well Thought-out Three-phase Concept

As for the project itself, I’d like to foreground that one of its strongest sides was a strict and clear structure. The project was well thought-out in such a way that the participants would not only learn theatre and #body #expression #techniques but also try to apply them when working with their target groups, and then share their results with other #participants.

For that reason, the project was divided into three phases, namely, that one of the training course that took place in #Hungary, the local phase in one’s home country and the feedback phase back in Hungary. During the first phase, we learnt a plethora of theatrical and body expression activities. In light of what we learnt, we had to develop our plans for the local phase. During the third phase, we were supposed to share the results of the local action plan. To my mind, the three-phase model ensured that participants would take their tasks seriously. At the end of the day, nobody wanted to return to Hungary after three months and tell the colleagues that they failed.

The Project Opened New Teaching Perspectives

So, having returned to Lithuania after the first phase, I started implementing my local action plan. I tried to integrate an autistic boy into a #kindergarten group by using theatrical methods that I learnt during the training course. In the kindergarten, we played #team #building and #communication promoting games. Some methods worked very well for my target group, while others did not. During the third phase, I discussed with other participants and #facilitators how to solve the issues that I faced during the local phase. Moreover, immediately after the third phase, I was asked by my native village community to perform theatrical activities the whole day at a #summer #camp for children from rural areas.

Taking Advice from Senior Colleagues

Another advantage of the project was that I was constantly surrounded by people who directly worked with socially marginalised groups of people. These were not only the facilitators but also participants who worked with autistic children, #LGBT #communities, #deaf people, children from different #cultural backgrounds, etc. Some participants had worked with their target groups for even several decades. So, they were happy to share their experiences with younger colleagues.

A Multitude of Extra Discoveries

Last but not least, learning in a #multicultural #environment has enriched my #linguistic, #cultural and #political #knowledge. At the end of each day, we often sat together, discussing national dishes, political and historical events of each participant’s home country. We discussed topics that made us smile as well as those that we addressed on a more serious note. For instance, #Croatian peers shared their memories of the Croatian War that took place when they were children. The funniest moments perhaps were those when we used to compare linguistic features. For instance, we all use the phrase “to kill two birds with one stone” but, as far as we found out, each language has its own animal. #Slovenians hit two flies with one blow, Lithuanians kill two hares with one shot, while #Italians catch two pigeons with one bean. LOL! 😂😂😂

A Royal Marine symbolizes pride and honor. All of us are acquainted with the renowned symbols of the Green Beret and "flash". They represent a Royal Marine commando, a very prestigious post indeed. Many of us even dream of joining the Royal Marine some day in our lives. However, it is not everyone's cup of tea. The process of becoming a Royal Marine entails a rigorous selection procedure so much so that only the fittest survive. Aspiring candidates have to apply for the Potential Royal Marines Course (PRMC) examinations. The written exam is followed by an interview round. The selection processes are extremely critical and analytical. Hence, each candidate has to be extremely attentive in order to get through.

High level of emotional resilience is perhaps the only way to get through the tests. It is noteworthy that each test has been designed to analyze different skills of the candidates. Again, prior knowledge of the Royal Marine is also mandatory. Excellent managerial and team skills are also some of the prerequisites of this profession. However, the most important of all is the physical fitness. Tremendous physical fitness is required in order to survive in this profession. The physical fitness of candidates is tested through various levels.

The primary step is to pass the selection process through the PRMC examination. One must contact the Careers Office to find out about the dates and procedure of the Royal Marine examination. Different sets of questions would be asked - numerical tests, reasoning and logic tests, mechanical comprehension tests. Candidates would be tested on the history of the Royal Marines also and therefore, a thorough knowledge of the same is imperative. During the process of preparation for these examinations, the Royal Marine candidate must remember to use the right and precise references. A varied study is good but sometimes, that needs to be streamlined to make the study and research more substantial, concentrative and effective.

After the test, the names of the candidates who have been selected for the interview will be short listed. To prepare for this, the potential Royal Marine must be aware of some of the sample interview questions and their responses. Then he or she should create his or her own response to the questions and accordingly derive upon the best answer taking cue from both. Facing mock interviews are the best ways to prepare for such interviews. Answers and responses should be well structured. It is advisable to keep them short and precise and to-the-point.

As with everything else, first impressions are always vital. A Royal Marine candidate must make sure that he presents himself very well. His confidence in his own abilities must not be mistaken for arrogance. The training that a candidate must undergo is said to be one of the most difficult in the world today. Therefore, a Royal Marine candidate must prepare himself in advance. He must undergo advanced infantry training as well. The Royal Marines are known for their virtues of inculcating team spirit, professionalism and an ambition for success.
