Is what came to mind when I saw this photo and "always as a team". This was the starting point of our hike100nct challenge on January 1st. Pep was ready to GO. Also with a little help from my friends, they took pictures of Pep and I as we hiked on this day as I took pictures of Pep :-) I think they did a pretty good job with this one. Has become one of my favorites with me and Pep. If it weren't for Pep, I probably stay in bed all the time.
Sing along with Pep and me in this Beatles song :-)
We went out into the woods this morning to give our pumpkins to the wildlife to feast on.
What did you do with your pumpkins after Halloween?
Using the painting feature editing. Pretty fun to play around with when its too cold to go exploring.
Lonetree WMA Segment of the NCT. A few weeks ago we did part of the NCT, did 2 miles here, I just never got around to posting the pictures yet. I'm so far behind!
Taken a month ago down by the Missouri River, North Dakota. Loved the blue/purple sky that day and Pep looks so tiny. (Testing out my new iPhone camera. ) THANK YOU EXPLORE
There's Pep with that big smile on his face as usual when we're out exploring. I think this should in the October or maybe November calendar.
Now that it's getting colder, you will start to notice Pep's fur will be thicker. I let his fur grow out for extra warmth. I love it! He looks like a teddy bear :0)
Testing our new hammock in the backyard before going camping. Soon we'll be going camping, I can't wait. I do believe Pep approved 😊 👍 🎒
I just love taking shadow shots of Pep and me :0) You can even see Pep's shadow smiling.
Tomorrow is round 3 chemo treatment. I think I have 1-2 more to go, will find out for sure tomorrow. I can't wait for this to be over with.
Have a Happy Monday!
You can see Pep had his nose to the ground. In hot pursuit of a moose. No worries, he was leashed. No luck on finding any moose, but found lots of fresh tracks.
I couldn't ask for any better company to have a picnic with.
Thank you all for enjoying Pep's and I adventurers together, our nature and wildlife photos and the flooding of photos yesterday. I needed to do some clearing up and organizing. Hopefully now I can catch up on all of your photos. I do read ALL your comments and appreciate your comments. I'm sorry I don't get around to replying back.
Pep and I are doing well. We've also been resting up this week for the big hike this coming Saturday. It's National Trail Day! We're going hiking, canoe riding and a BQQ. Happy Weekend Friends!
Pep's Hiking Team has taken on the NCT (North Country Trail) 100 mile challenge 2016. We started the new year right yesterday. We hiked 2 miles of the NCT McClusky Canal. After having chemo on Tuesday then go hiking on Friday. It was a major struggle for me but with the help of my family, and Pep, I did it. We did it.
18 January 2016. To celebrate Pep's 10th birthday and to just get out of the house, we explored the area of Hazen Bay Recreation Area, Lake Sakakawea. This lake is one of three largest man-made reservoirs in the nation. It has a surface area of about 368,000 acres and 178 miles long.
Short video of Pep from yesterday. I had him follow me first from the jeep into woods. He does not like that, he always has to be in the lead. Sorry the vid is sideways....
I have more photos to download and post too. Too bad none are of the moose but lots of Pep action.
Pep had to have a bite of pumpkin before we left them for the wildlife to enjoy. Plus no one believed me when I said he enjoyed a bite or two or three, maybe even four.
I bought Pep and I matching charms. Sorry for the foul langue on the charm but the bad word has a ribbon to replace the "U". My team of nurses and Doctors loves our charm.
Zoom in to read the charm. If you can not see what it reads, the charm reads "F*CK CANCER".
Little Glass Mountain can be seen in the background. It is that giant grayish blob and represents a giant lava flow. I should post a photo of it - looks like somebody stepped on a giant toothpaste tube full of lava.
My trail buddy, Ringo, mugs for the camera in front of Como Lake. The loop trail continues up from here to the rim of the mountain seen in the background. The entire Mounatin Lakes Loop is fifteen to eighteen miles depending on which trail you choose to get up to the loop.
A throw back Thursday photo is about 2 years, so not the greatest picture of Pep. This was probably about a month after Pep came to live with us. This river is the Heart River. Not to far from the house. A good walking distances, a fairy nice walk. We don't hang around there much in the summer because of the ticks, but come winter we do. I don't know what Pep was thinking when he decided to walk across the thin ice haha I don't think he did either. He did slip right before I took this shot, that's why he has that "oh crap" look on his face. Pep made it across fine and if the ice were to break he would only gotten his paws wet. The area past that big rock is where it gets deep and wasn't frozen. Pep had a blast that day and I knew that day he was a little explorer and adventurous.

This was a test shot. I was waiting for the sun to be almost completely down and thought it was too early. Turns out I was wrong. This was the one.
A fun little game Pep and I like to play. Folks seems to really enjoy the "Where's Pep" on another site. Would you like to play?
Cherry Lake
Aim and Colvin looking out at the views from South Dix Mountain immediately following hurricane Irene. Normally the Dix Range is quiet compared to the more used and abused High Peaks, but this week we had the place almost completely to ourselves.

Finally, a selfie of Pep and I that I can truly say this is the bomb, haha.
Danzig Dam, New Salem, ND
Boing boing boing boing Pep's ritual before every hike boings and zoomies then he's ready to hike.
McClusky Canal, NCT.
Pep is a bit out of focus... Sorry. Sometimes it's hard to get a good clear shot of him when he's on the move.
