The Natchez Trace is a historical path that extends roughly 440 miles (710 km) from Natchez, Mississippi to Nashville, Tennessee, linking the Cumberland, Tennessee and Mississippi rivers.
Tennessee
Anywhere else and this would be called a ditch, but along the Mississippi River it is known as a part of the old Natchez Trace. Carved out of the earth with thousands of feet and hooves traveling the trek for thousands of years.
Probably my last project work of 2024, a late Trace Elliot AH300-7 bass amplifier from the end of the Clive Button design era. Mosfet powered and with the elctro luminescent front panel, these were the last designs before the Trace Elliot brand was sold to Gibson. Very good sounding amplifiers but technically over complex. The EL panels often failed, and the main boards were prone to cooling circuit failures. This example had a failed EL panel, and a cooling circuit bodge to keep it working. Re-engineered with a more reliable mains powered cooling fan and all the bodge junk removed. The EL panel could be repaired but a previous tech had discarded the inverter circuit board so it isn't cost effective to repair. Apart from that, it works very well and sounds brilliant.
