Natchez Trace Parkway Bridge across Birdsong Hollow.
The double arch bridge at milepost 438 on the Natchez Trace Parkway was completed in 1994 and received the Presidential Award for Design Excellence in 1995 for its innovative design. The bridge rises 155 feet above the valley and eliminates the need for spandrel columns.
Chief Constable Stephen Watson joined hundreds of Mancunians and visitors attending the Service of Remembrance in the city centre yesterday, Sunday 10 November.
There was a short procession before the commemoration ceremony was held at the Cenotaph on St Peter’s Square.
Chief Constable Watson laid a wreath on behalf of the force.
The force's band produced a moving performance in conjunction with military musicians.
Civic dignitaries were in attendance to pay their respects to the servicemen and women who have fallen in the line duty since the First World War, including the Lord Mayor of Manchester Councillor Paul Andrews, the Lord-Lieutenant of Greater Manchester Diane Hawkins.
Other Remembrance Sunday services took place in cities, towns and villages across Greater Manchester.
The UK fell silent at 11am as the country commemorated the servicemen and women who have fallen in the line duty since the First World War.
