“We need never shout across the spaces to an absent God. He is nearer than our own soul, closer than our most secret thoughts”
― A.W. Tozer, The Pursuit of God
During my previous, brief stay in Second Life, I had access to a small white chapel. One of my fondest memories of that time was that chapel.
“We might be wise to follow the insight of the enraptured heart rather than the more cautious reasoning of the theological mind.”
― A. W. Tozer
We please Him most, not by frantically trying to make ourselves good, but by throwing ourselves into His arms with all our imperfections and believing that He understands everything...and still loves us. A. W. Tozer
A cluster of cottages in quiet, rural Devon. Constructed of cob by the look of them, one of the oldest building materials known to man and basically mud and straw, now very fashionable again with flawless eco credentials.
The bells of Holy Trinity church were ringing as I walked around making the setting perfect. The ringing of the bells is mentioned in this extract from wikipedia:
'The parish church of Holy Trinity dates mostly from the 15th century, with some later rebuilding. Elias Tozer (1825–73) visited the village when they were ringing the church bells, "'They be often ringing, sir,' observed an old man to me; and he continued: 'The ringers be vurry fond of the bells, and sometimes they ring vor vurry little. T'other day Varmer Dadd killed a peg, and gied the natlins to the poor of the parish. Darned if the ringers didden ring vor a whole hour, as they zed, to cillebrate the hayvent.'"
(I think 'gied the natlins' means 'gave the offal', ie liver, kidneys and all the rest of the squelchy bits to the poor of the parish)
The labor of self-love is a heavy one indeed. Think whether much of your sorrow has not arisen from someone speaking slightingly of you. As long as you set yourself up as a little god to which you must be loyal, how can you hope to find inward peace. - A.W. Tozer
let your heart soar as high as it will." ~A. W. Tozer

The sovereign God wants to be loved for Himself and honored for Himself, but that is only part of what He wants. The other part is that He wants us to know that when we have Him we have everything – we have all the rest. - A.W. Tozer

Well having waited over 30 YEARS to see Bananarama play live last week, this week it was the turn of the mighty Steps, who I've waited 20 YEARS to see & they didn't disappoint...A fabulous night was had by all..:)
Have a Fabulous Thursday Y'all..:)
When I was up in Iron Range I was determined to try and track down the Kutini boulder-frog (Cophixalus kulakula). This rare and elusive frog is only known from the boulder habitats in the vicinity of Mt Tozer. Armed with a map and GPS a couple of mates and I bush bashed all afternoon in the pouring rain through thick scrub and rainforest to try and get to where we thought the frogs would be. Having been scratched to pieces climbing over and under endless fallen trees, pushing through thick walls of wait-a-while and being stung by a million tree ants, we eventually got to what appeared to be suitable habitat. As it got dark we were greeted by a few frog calls, and after a short search managed to find one of these unique frogs perched upon a boulder. After hanging around for half an hour or so we also managed to find a few more individuals, and then began the strenuous journey back in the dark attempting to follow our GPS breadcrumbs (with limited success).

So be it. Every man must choose his world.
But we must avoid the common fault of pushing the "other world" into the future. It is not future but present. It parallels our familiar physical world, and the doors between the two worlds are open. We must shift our interest from the seen to the unseen. For the great unseen Reality is God.

These skinks are almost impossible to photograph not insitu. My insitu skills are limited so you'll have to bear with me, this genus is too cool not to post.

Self.
Going through the shots from a few weeks ago for my 52 weeks I suddenly found this. I remember how gemüs told me she would like the last one more if there hasn't been a green line at the end of the field. I thought I didn't have one but here it is! Why didn't I see this back then? I so felt like posting this.
And I so feel like feeling like this.
Watched Illuminati / Angels and Demons in the cinema yesterday. What a great film version of a book! May turn into one of my favourites ever. Thrilling.
