When I was growing up in the 50's, all cars had fins. Someday in the near future, we were told, they'd all have jet engines.

The robots liked it so much last year, I've taken an extended group back to Barley (Pendleside, Lancashire) May Bank Holiday Model Engineering Show again this year.

Part of my robot exhibit:- with RoboScout, RAD1, RAD4, Meccanoid, Wall-e, K9, Dalek, modded Maplin robot arm, and one of my 2.4GHz transmitters.

Once again Meccanoid had to take a back seat, because voice activation is difficult in the exhibition environment, and his Bluetooth does not seem to work with my Android Galaxy S8.

RAD4 entertained by periodically whistling and muttering to try to seek attention!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I created this image for Fotodiox a few years ago, captured with a Canon EF 24-105mm lens mounted on a Sony A7 with an EOS to E-mount ND Throttle adapter, lit lit with a LED-209A and backlit with my iPhone's screen waved back and forth during the 30 second long exposure.

Just decided to make some series of shot for this cute little Box.

In prehistoric times, when dogs were wild, man had to find his best friend among the available species. The fact is that this dimetrodon is not very sociable, but that's what the poor Mel was able to get… The alternative was a pterodactyl, but he has dizziness.

Using it's laser hands, Moonmech melts the lunar regolith to a workable paste called slag, which can be shaped and compressed into roads and foundations.

Been inspired lately by old toy robots. I hope to make a few of these in NCS colours. Inspiration here and here.

It was heaps of fun making a Lego vintage style robot, I highly recommend it, in NCS or otherwise. I GUARANTEE* you will have fun!

Known as the Cyclops robot (or sometimes the Trash Can robot for the barrel shaped body) this battery operated chrome finish plastic robot walks forward with blinking lights and swinging arms. Made in Hong Kong for Durham Industries in 1976 and sold at Western Auto Stores.

Played with the idea of giving him Jap-style wings but thought I might save that for the next one.

Robot exhibit:- robotarm chess board controlled by 3 UNOs, and 3 vintage Chinese toy enforcer robots including Zadak.

one of holden's MANY robots!

This is a really nice little robot. You press on the top of its head and it will say one of three different phrases each time. Even though I removed the keychain from it, the keychain could easily be looped back on. I'd have to measure it exactly, but I'd say it's about 3 inches tall.

Travis is a BoxBOT- a robot that is a box of gears and mechanisms that runs without a need for ridiculous personality programs or maintenance. He is isn't broken, no need to fix him.

Travis is also HideyBOT-push a small button on the left side and he opens up and has room to store small keepsakes. Stands at exactly 3 inches

Recharging is quite a pain though...

Battery operated rotating-body robot. The box says 17" but the robot is actually 16" -- great action -- walks forward then turns and goes the other way!
