The building is empty and in slight disrepair. It used to be a local fine cuisine restaurant. It was originally built in 1916 as a country residence for the composer Hakon Schmedes. The layout is a copy of a 17th Century Danish manor complete with a moat and an enclosed courtyard.

Restored Dolmen
An old dolmen in a small wood called "Babylone" north of Copenhagen. The place is exceptionally beautiful and about 6000 years old. These stones on the top of the mound are supposedly a later addition. Many similar megaliths have sadly been dug up or removed over the years and the stones used for other purposes such as road fillings.

This Toyo is found in the lake of the The Japanese Garden at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. It is a lovely spot in all seasons but I especially enjoy going there in the winter soon after a snowfall has left a white coating on the ground and on all the tree branches

The fort was built between 1886 and 1892. It was the biggest of the fortifications around Copenhagen. It is the only one with its own infantry barracks. Garderhøjfortet had powerful twin cannons in special heavily armoured towers. They were 15 centimeter model 1887 from Sweden. The fortress also had lesser artillery, disappearing turrets and machine guns.
It was part of a 19th Century fortification system called København Befæstning ("Copenhagen Fortifications")
