Finally finished shooting this roll of LomoChrome 35mm film (yes, actual film) that has been sitting in my camera for two years now. I had no idea what was on this roll (you know my memory), but found some kewl shots - this being one of them.

Lomochrome is a weird boutique infrared (?) film that is fun to play with. You never know how it's going to turn out :)

I'm supposed to be writing an assignment....

I originally thought this was my best ever fake tilt/shift but now I've uploaded it I'm not so sure. I think the effect loses its impact the more you look at it and you stop being able to see if its working or not. Therefore, if it looks like a model then cool... if it doesn't then sorry for uploading a naff picture of some indistinct houses in Cromford...

Panamarenko - collection of works

Panamarenko brings together the figure of the scientist and that of the naive dreamer and tinkerer. Aside from all kinds of airships and flying machines, he has designed a series of spacecraft of which a selection is shown in Space Odyssey 2.0 in the form of sketches and models.

From the end of the 70s, Panamarenko has mainly focussed on the concept of the magnetic spaceship. This spacecraft would not require any internal energy source, but would fly by means of existing magnetic forces. The Zilverschijf (Silver Disk) is one of his first designs. Another model is the elongated interstellar spaceship Vliegende Sigaar (Flying Cigar), a kind of mother ship that would measure over 800 meters long in reality.

The Bing of the Ferro Lusto is a later prototype for a spaceship. The propulsion and navigation of the device was worked out in his theory of cosmic energy and magnetic fields under the title Toymodel of Space. Once launched, the engines use the speed of rotation of the earth to create a kind of boomerang effect.

Nonie and I were walking hand in hand down Brand Boulevard in Glendale, California when I glimpsed a slight movement out of the corner of my eye. We stopped, looked, and spied a tiny dinosaur carefully trying to maneuver down the sidewalk without being seen. Once it knew it had been spotted, it stopped and tried unsuccessfully to blend into its surroundings.

Realizing the scientific enormity of the situation, I whipped out my cell phone, quickly punched in the security code, then let my fingers dance across the screen until I found the camera app, and hastily snapped a photo. Not wanting its picture taken, the little primeval creature roared at us (well, it was more like a little squeak), then ran around the corner, and disappeared into a sewer drain.

Nonie and I could not believe what we just witnessed. And now, because of my trusty cell phone camera the world has absolute and definitive proof that Dinosaurs still do exist… and they walk among us!
