I saw these at a rest area in CT.

Below is from Wikipedia:

Pez (trademarked PEZ in capitals) is the brand name of an Austrian candy and their mechanical pocket dispensers. The candy itself takes the shape of pressed, dry, straight-edged, curved-corner, blocks (15 mm (5/8 inch) long, 8 mm (5/16 inch) wide, and 5 mm (3/16 inch) high), with Pez dispensers holding 12 Pez pieces.

Pez was originally introduced in Austria, later exported, notably to the U.S., and eventually became available worldwide. The all-uppercase spelling of the logo echoes the trademark's style on the packaging and the dispensers themselves, with the logo drawn in perspective and giving the appearance that the letters are built out of 44 brick-like Pez candies (14 bricks in the P and 15 in each of the E and Z).

Despite the widespread recognition and popularity of the Pez dispenser, the company considers itself to be primarily a candy company, and over 3 billion candy bricks are consumed each year in the U.S. alone. Pez dispensers are part of popular culture in many nations, an example being 'Soul Candy' in Japanese manga series Bleach] Because of the large number of dispenser designs over the years, they are collected by enthusiasts.

These guys are referred to as monkeys - here only 2 of many many more. Whenever Jeannie is happy, or greeting us she is gently picking one and carries it around. To 'get the monkey' (any of her stuffed toys) has become a key-word also where she can get a cookie upon delivery one stuffed toy to us.

During the warmer season she also makes sure that one is being carried outside for fresh air whenever she is wandering onto the terrace or going into the garden. We have to collect them in the evenings but sometimes one is forgotten outdoors. Hence their a bit worn looks. Happy Crazy Tuesday!

A Japanese-style fan and a rubber squeeze duck attached (as decors) to the gate of our apartment. The rubber squeeze duck is actually a bicycle ringer. It will make a loud and sharp sound if you squeeze it. Our rubber duckie is our security guard and also act as our doorbell. =P

This week's Macro Mondays theme is "Childhood Toys". I'm a 1958 version so my childhood was a while ago. My children have grown up and I'm now a grandfather. But I've had some 26 homes and lots of removals, some across the world, so most of my own toys vanished a long, long time ago. I do have toys, particularly farm toys, that came from the era of my childhood, which I collected for my children and grandchildren to enjoy: retro, vintage toys to them.

So I thought I would struggle for this theme until I remembered a shoebox my parents gave me just a couple of years ago when they were having a clear out.

And in it I found this Lesney N0.3 Bedford 7 1/2 ton tipper truck. Just two and a half inches long. Made in England. I can date it to 1962 when we lived in Singapore, and my father had set up his Marklin trainset on a big table. There's me captured in his cine film putting the little lorry on the back of a train truck. I was curious, with the benefit of Google, to find out more, and came across this website www.vintagebritishdiecasts.co.uk/1index/xx3b.htm . Sure enough my truck is a series 'two' with black baseplate, maroon tipper, silver highlighting, no exhaust brace and without the later strengthening castings. Definitely about 1962. And this really is one of my original childhood toys!

Having been encouraged to dig back by the Macro Mondays theme I was so interested to learn 57 years late what an interesting history there is to my childhood toys en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lesney_Products#History

Christmas afternoon was spent at my grandma's house. I would pack up all of my new stuff and take it with me to keep me company. Today we are going to my mother-in-law's house. I will need to leave my toys at home :(

my latest little camera came with her own traveling case - ooh lala ;)

I wanted to tweak the legs a bit on one of my older robots and wound up rebuilding it almost completely. No surprises there, I guess.

These are all complete and just need some cleaning up.
