Some toy miniatures from two different series "Special Cakes for Me" and "Good Sweets". I've been fascinated by miniatures since I read about them on Carol's blog (Paris Breakfasts).
Unazukin is the latest interactive toy from Japan -- a small ''fairy'' that is actually a good listener. The voice activated doll actually reacts to your voice, nodding and shaking her head whenever appropriate. www.unazukin.com/
So, I might've gone a bit crazy with the toy cars. I am quite sure the nice old homeless man selling them in the park of our tiny village in Colombia has no idea some of them made it to a high rise condo in Canada. If I see him again, I'll show him these photos.
I found this tatty wet toy whilst on a dog walk in the Forest of Dean. It looked so sweet I was tempted to rescue it but took a couple of photos instead.
YOU REALLY SHOULD VIEW LARGE ON BLACK
I know it's not Friday, but I thought I'd post something for fun to start my very hectic-looking week. Besides, it is not often that I get a chance to photograph toy trucks. I thought it would be a good break from flowers and droplets and snails, although I must say, I couldn't help the bokeh (my nifty-fifty's fault). This was taken at one of the stalls in Chinatown. Yesterday I went there with two friends, fellow Flickrites, had dimsum and enjoyed walking through the market and photographing anything that caught our eyes. These very colorful toy trucks surely caught mine, but I opted to focus on the black one. Go figure.
Have a great week, you all! As I said, the next few days will be quite hectic but I will try to pop in and check your new uploads whenever I can - like always.
Gungan energy catapults were mobile weapons that were used by the Gungans in the Battle of Naboo/Legends against invading Trade Federation droids. The catapults launched large boomas that deactivated the enemy droids.
Still needs more detailing and quite satisfied with the essential look. It's functional as it should be and will launch the booma effortlessly. Will make another one to be included in the Grass Plains battle diorama...

The sweep of the roads, the roofs and the different coloured plots of land in this scene caught my eye. Almost seemed like a model. I took the shot during a walk, from a path high up over the village.

When searching the internet for examples of tin soldiers I stumbled across ‘Tinny’. He is so cute I just had to make him in LEGO.
Tinny is a one-man-band toy starring in a computer-animated short film of 5 minutes called ‘Tin Toy’ that was produced by Pixar in 1988. The film tells the story of Tinny attempting to escape from Billy, a destructive baby. Tin Toy went on to claim Pixar’s first Oscar within the 1988 Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film, becoming the first CGI film to win an Oscar. Due to Tin Toy, Pixar gained attention from Disney and this resulted in the first computer-animated film ‘Toy Story’.
The cake I did for my son's 1st bday. First time doing this design (inspired by Rouvelee @ Rouvelee's Creations and Dot @ Cupcakes by Design , Pastrychick)
10"x6"x6"H Cake made of dark mud, white mud, dark mud, layered in cookies 'n' cream buttercream, covered in dark choc ganache.
First time doing a Tatty Teddy. Made of fondant and fur piped in RI (my daughter said it looked scary b/c the fur was spikey, thanks to my not-so-good piping skills)
