Le Lac de Myvatn est une des zones les plus touristiques d’Islande. Situé au nord de l’île à 1 heure de route environ d’Akureyri, c’est un bon point de chute pour rayonner dans la région du nord est de l’île : à Husavik, vous pourrez partir à la recherche des baleines à bosses, tandis qu’à Dettifoss vous pourrez admirer une des cascades les plus puissantes d’Europe !
Mais surtout, les abords du lac concentrent à eux seuls un grand nombre de sites géologiques variés, que ce soit pour le volcanisme ou la géothermie. Je pense que l’on pourrait y passer facilement y rester une semaine sans ennuyer ! Myvatn est une base idéale pour pratiquer de multiples activités : randonnée, vélo, balade à cheval, baignade dans des sources chaudes… où pour partir en excursion au volcan Askja pour avoir un aperçu du centre de l’Islande.

Officially, the road to Svínafellsjökull is closed as tourists are in danger of falling rocks and they enter at their own risk. I'll wager that the real reason is to protect Svínafellsjökull against tourists. To get there, you now have to walk 4-5 km on an uncomfortable gravel road. Accordingly, I only met one American family on the way which chose to walk on the moss to protect their feet. I guess there's no protection against idiocy.

I'd ordinarily say that visiting Ireland is a life changing event, though in this man's case, I think being the father of twins is plenty enough... Seen in the Latin Quarter of central Galway City, Ireland.
The design for the Japanese Garden was conceived in 1970, construction started in 1971 and it was completed in 1974. It represents a gentle, horticultural gesture of sister ship between two sister cities, Buffalo and Kanazawa, Japan. Located on 6 acres along Delaware Park’s Mirror Lake, the original design contained over 1,000 plantings, nearly 20 globe-type lights, three small islands connected to the mainland by bridges.

Not exactly from around here. I am not sure what it is that jumps out and says that they are not local. Do misunderstand me, I am glad they are here and hope they are having a great time fishing. I think they would have even a better time if they would go to the port and jump on one of those fishing charters. For a pretty cheap amount they will supply everything you need and will put you right on the fish.
