My only visit down to the beaches and waterfront this summer so far and it was 10:30pm haha

I like coming to the Beaches in the winter much more often.

This photo was actually taken at night with long exposure of the moonlight across Lake Ontario. It transformed the surroundings and made it appear as if we are looking into a bright morning.

Not quite the summer many people was expecting this past weekend. Chilly and below seasonal, a few storms and some of residual rain throughout the weekend but that didn't discourage me from shooting the waterfront. I was a bit wet but oh well its only minutes away from home.

In reality the rough currents and stormy skies are nothing close to finding any sense of calmness sen here. Instead it is disguised by the "painting" of long exposure over the lake.

In light of the Gardiner East debate on the solution to the existing expressway :P The city council has voted for a hybrid plan which will leave most of the elevated Gardiner East in place instead of a full teardown and construct a boulevard in the Don Lands waterfront. The inner city wants the boulevard, the suburbs and commuters wanted the hybrid. It was a classic city vs the suburbs.

I framed this scene of Gardiner East as it was visually 'busy' here as well. The CN Tower is hardly visible. The Keaton Channel is cluttered with floating debris and garbage. There are some abandoned looking boats and ships. The skeleton of Gardiner East stands momentarily to the right (it had lost a few pounds due to the fall pieces of it over the years) :P

Another one from the archives.

This time of year is often seen as rush, rush, rush and shop, shop, shop. To a certain degree it really is. But I like to see it as a time to relax, especially getting some time off from work and a short break from school before the next semester. We gather with family and friends to enjoy precious moments, share laughs and catch up from our busy lives.
