Flynn, it's spring!
Hooman... I dunno if you noticed this but it's kinda snowing right now?
Yes, but still: SPRING!
It's SNOWING! I am standin' in snow, right by a giant puddle... cause it's also been rainin' for days on end... an' I am wearin' my winter jacket. That means it's still winter.
Nope! It's March, so it's spring now. Technically. Anyway, the flowers are coming up and days are getting longer. This time next week, sunset will be at six o'clock, imagine that!
SNOWING! It's SNOWING! Hooman, it's still winter.
But the 1st of March yesterday and that is the start of meteorological spring.
Meteor-what? It's cold, so it's still winter. Hooman sometimes you're so weird. Now, throw a stick in this 'ere puddle, I wanna go for a paddle.
What?! But Flynn, it's SNOWING!
I know that! I told you it's snowing, remember? Weird an' forgetful Hooman! Come on let's go play in the puddle!
It. Is. SNOWING!! It's too cold to play in the water today.
So? The puddle isn't totally frozen solid, just a bit... slushy... I can totally splash about in there.
No. We are not playing in the giant puddle today.
Pfft. Well, you're weird, forgetful and boring today Hooman! I dunno, the things I have to put up with!
I was quite surprised to wake up to a small amount of snow on the ground today. The 2nd day of meteorological spring but clearly, the weather hasn't been informed of the change in seasons just yet! This was the first snow we've had here, for 2024 & I suspect it'll have mostly/completely disappeared by tomorrow. This pic was taken during some of the heaviest snowfall we had but a lot of the day, it's been sleeting, or just raining... Ah well, it was nice to have a little bit to play in, even only briefly!
Flynn enjoyed the snow & seemed very glad to be wearing his nice warm jacket. Last time we had any snow, Flynn was very excited about it but then he quickly turned into a sad, soggy, shivery puppy (we usually get that wet, heavy stuff that soaks through everything!) & then he came home & was visibly stiff for a while after, due to his arthritis. Today, wrapped up in his coat, Flynn stayed much more comfortable. Haha, I suspect the added warmth is why he was so insistent that it would be totally fine to paddle in the giant slush-puddle! I eventually convinced him to come away by kicking snow about for him to chase but it took a while :)
Kuhsee Triathlon Augsburg 2009
Milliseconds later, I was completely surrounded and totally splashed on. Really glad my Nikon can take a little water!
Second attemp on the assignment TwPhCh #63: Splash (full sprut)
Well, well. The perfect glow of blood?!?. Regret the last tweaking with "ripple-filter" though. And then blood is thicker than water. The spin-off-attemp is made.
Today I don't feel like going into too much detail.
I got my hair cut at the Aveda school for $14! If you want to know what I look like now, you should just do an image search for Wendy Wong (I did not plan that.). The girl was nice enough, but she did a shoddy job on my bangs (aka fringe) and I had to go back and get an instructor to fix them. She also thought it was funny I referred to my "triangle" cut as an "inverted bob."
After I got the hair cut, I went to Optic Zone to get new nosepads for my glasses since the old ones were dirty. I was walking up towards Queen to head over to City Hall to get my disclosure notice for the bike ticket I'm fighting, feeling all nice and clean b/c my hair was freshly done and Joe had cleaned my glasses when I became one of those chumps that gets totally splashed head to toe with slush from a fast moving car.
It sucked!
I managed to dry off and went into Chapters, my home away from home.

Everything I just wrote happened over an hour before I took this photograph.
These chaps came in for a drink once afternoon - there were about 8 of them in total splashing about in the water
My sisters fiances jumpes on this rock in the sea and I thought, 'this might be good!' So I quickly picked up my camera (hoping that I had put my camera settings back) and then happened what I thought would happen... Only much bigger (and better for me : ) than I expected... ! The water came rolling back and splashed on 'his' rock! I got a great picture out of it, but he got totally splashed (& wet) and had to buy a new camera... Oughtsj!
