For the last few days I have been trying to work on my macro photography. I have been enjoying it so far and I feel its an aspect of photography I may try to venture into more in the future. The detail my 50mm lens was able to pick out in the center of this flower brought up my spirits. The center of the flower looks as if it has a field of little flowers of its own

This evening I was supposed to shoot with a paid model, but she stood me up. After waiting an hour for her to arrive with no communication whatsoever on her part (not even an excuse), I simply decided to not let the golden hour go to waste. As usual, my wife was sporting a cute outfit and, without missing a beat, she was ready to pose in front of my camera.
I took a walk through the forest behind my parents house last night. I was hoping to run into more wildlife, but the main reason was to get some wide angle landscape shots. I thought it would be cool to get a shot under the bridge and tried a few from a variety of angles. This one turned out to be my favorite because I didn't like the further back view as much as I wanted.

Another landscape from my adventures on Sunday night. I wanted to capture the same bridge from a different angle. I really liked how the forest seemed to surround the bridge, and how the moon is just a small light in the corner of the sky.

Today, I offered to take headshots for a few interns and colleagues of mine at IBM. I was happy to be able to make it look like it was taken in a professional studio. In reality, I shot it outside our lab against a gray wall, without the assistance of any flash or reflectors. Despite the limitation of my setup while travelling, everyone seemed stoked about their photos.
Went for a walk about with Georgie yesterday and saw a bunch of wasps on a tree branch. It was fairly windy out and the branches were swaying quite a bit. I had to hold the branch connected to the leaf this wasp was perched on to get the shot. I was able to get the shot I wanted without getting stung, which makes it a good day in my book.
