Taken just three days ago, just before the Sun retired for the evening. The last bit of ice is seen on pond as viewed from the top of the Hill at my local Hillside Park.
I knew it would take a series of exposures and some HDR work to get any kind of detail in the sky and land. I had brought a small tabletop tripod with me and had taken four bracketed images. Realizing that I was still at a higher ISO adjusted my settings and took three more. When processing I thought I would try using all seven exposures and this is pretty much the result. I was happy with it so did not try processing with just the three lower ISO images.
Once again I have uploaded a bit higher resolution image than I normally do so that there is decent detail as things tend to get pretty small in the distance using a wide angle lens. Full view will look much better and may take a couple of clicks.
My GF says: I should mind my own.
I think this one is a gem. I am pretty sure my friend Laura will love this one.
It is very rare that these cows are in this particular field grazing. It is the perfect location for the camera because of that horizon. When I saw them there and grabbed this shot, I was very excited.
I played an afternoon show at Ribfest in Welland ON and thus am feeling sore and a bit slow.
I hope everyone loves their weekend.
Here are some family members on the top of the hill, created when the lake was dug out of the fields in Alberta. It was a gorgeous day and my grandchildren enjoyed every minute of it.

This was the scene on the Southdowns Way near Ditchling Beacon in East Sussex. The windswept tree stands at the edge of a dew pond on the crest of the hill. I liked the way the pond's edge goes up to the edge of the hill, giving a sort of infinity pool effect.
klobuk is a hill about 500 meters high and is located in Herzegovina. It has an interesting shape, so if you look at it from east to west you have the feeling that you are looking at a perfect pyramid, and if you look at it from north to south you have the feeling that you are looking at a hat, that is why the hill is called Klobuk. There is a votive chapel and a cross on the hill, and the way to the very top is an adventure through thickets and sharp stones.
Fateh Sagar Lake is situated in the city of Udaipur in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It is an artificial lake named after Maharana Fateh Singh of Udaipur and Mewar ,constructed to the north-west of Udaipur, located to the north of Lake Pichola in the 1680s.
Victoria Tower
The history of human activity on Castle Hill goes back over 4000 years. The site was developed as an iron age hill fort, surrounded by defensive ditches and ramparts. In the Middle Ages, there was a castle on the hill, of which the well remains. The present tower was built to commemorate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee of 1897. Perched on Castle Hill, Victoria Tower was completed in 1899 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Queen Victoria's reign. The cornerstone of the tower was laid on 25 June 1898 by Mr John Frechville Ramsden and was officially opened by the Earl of Scarborough on 24 June 1899. The walls of the tower are four feet thick at the bottom, tapering to two feet at the top. The tower was renovated in 1960 when the top seven feet were removed. It reaches a height of almost 997 feet above sea level. In November 2012 the lantern light on top of Victoria Tower was replaced due to the original light that had failed. The red LED light on the top of the building meets aviation regulations and uses the same energy as a 35W bulb.
