bishop for his great help in filming.
Amanda for her suggestions on outfits to match the surroundings, etc.
It was a very enjoyable shoot, thank you!
It was a spur-of-the-moment suggestion of mine, but I didn't expect it to turn out so cool!

This archaeological complex is composed of two restored ahu which turn their backs on a small bay, where they break the waves with force on the cliffs of lava.
The ahu that can be seen here belong to the late stage of construction of the moai statues, and date back to about the seventeenth century. Together with the nearby ceremonial center of Tahai, they offer a panorama that suggests what must have been the landscape of the island in ancient times, with numerous ahu bordering much of the coast.
It is said that the ariki, or kings, resided temporarily in Hanga Kio’e. In addition, in the surroundings of this place existed a school where the art of carving the talking tablets or kohau rongo rongo was taught.
The site consists of a coastal esplanade of two ahu with a moai each, the Ahu Akapu and the Ahu Hanga Kio’e; as well as a square and a hare moa (chicken coop), which was restored in 1972. There are also several remains of hare paenga (boat houses), which were part of the ceremonial center.
A place of legend:
Hanga Kio’e means “Bay of the Mouse” and it seems that the name comes from an old legend about a widow who entered this small cove with a mouse in the mouth, in mourning for the death of her husband, whose remains were buried here after the ahu (ceremonial platform) was built.
The moai that rises on the Ahu Akapu has a height of 4 meters and is complete, only lacks the pukao (stone hat). On the other hand the Ahu Hanga Kio’e, only has a part of the back erected on the platform, that was rescued from the bay.

Behind the ahu, the terrain forms a small hill that offers beautiful views of the whole, with Hanga Roa in the background and the waves roaring among lava cliffs. Hanga Kio’e is a place seldom frequented by tourists, so it invites you to relax and imagine how life could have been in a village so small and remote.

Located on the northeast beaches of Rapa Nui, Playa Anakena is the only island on the island with a wide strip of sand and, with its palm trees and blue waters, is almost a caricature of an idyllic landscape of the South Pacific. The beach is perfect for swimming and sunbathing.
Easter Island (Rapa Nui, Spanish: Isla de Pascua) is an island and special territory of Chile in the southeastern Pacific Ocean, at the southeasternmost point of the Polynesian Triangle in Oceania.

A quick History about where I am stepping on this picture:
According to the oral tradition of the island, Anakena was the landing site of Hotu Matu'a, a chief Polynesian who led a two canoe settlement group here and founded the first settlement in Rapa Nui.
It was later a ceremonial center where islanders read from Rongorongo plates.
Anakena featured in the manu Tangata or cult Birdman as in the years when the new Birdman was from the western clans, he would end his celebrations in Anakena.
Modern archeology has found traces of human occupation in Anakena as early as 1200 CE, although linguistic and other analyzes indicate a date range for the first settlement of Rapa Nui between 300 and 1200 AD.
Anakena has been the site of several archaeological excavations including those of Katherine Routledge in 1914 and both William Mulloy and Thor Heyerdahl in 1950, and two of her Ahus have been restored.
Anakena was used as one of the movie locations for 1994 Kevin Reynolds movie Rapa Nui.

On day two of the four day 1000 Mille Miglia vintage race through Italy, Leonardo and Antonio were in fourth place as they arrived at the finish line at Cervia-Milano Marittima. Yet any celebration would have to wait as they would be working late in to the night to replace the headlights which fell off and tumbled down a steep mountain side, never to be seen again. 1:18 Franklin Mint die cast.

Same-sex marriage has been legal in Brazil since 16 May 2013, following a National Justice Council decision, which orders notaries of every state to perform same-sex marriages.
Same-sex unions had already been legally recognized since 2004. Following a ruling of the Supreme Court of Brazil, so-called stable unions (Portuguese: união estável) had been available for same-sex couples since May 2011. These unions were granted most of the rights of marriages, including adoption, welfare benefits, pension, inheritance tax, income tax, social security, health benefits, immigration, joint property ownership, hospital and prison visitation, IVF and surrogacy.
Hans Gugelot's design studio was famous for very clean industrial designs. The Braun shaver, a toaster, the Kodak Ektagraphic slide projector... They get credit in many circles for having drawn the 914, but factory sources disagree with that assessment...
It would appear that Heinrich Klie, then head of the Porsche Design Studios designed the car at Porsche Design Studios.
www.togobeyond.net/914klie.html
Said Ferdinand Alexander Porsche:
"Gugelot never did anything to the car! They had a car that had a few similarities with the 914, that's all. The most one could do is to point out those similarities, but Gugelot had nothing to do with the car…"
Going to guess we are (in) 1962 here, well at least with this car. Corvette, Classic, American Muscle, Speed, and FAST came immediately to mind. Also what came to mind: Was the party I was with going to put up with me spending over 30 minutes with this baby? Or where is the owner, and is he/she gonna come unglued while I drool over their gorgeous car with my camera? Carmel Ca. a few weekends ago (5-7Mar10) and maybe a gift from the gods because of the elusive old Studebaker I have yet to find. My party was cool cuz they were deciding on a restaurant for lunch and there was a waiting list. As for the owner of the car? I ended up being the entertainment for the her, while she and her boyfriend watched me work during their consumption of ice cream cones. She had just bought this beauty @ at a Classic restoration house in Pleasanton Ca. I believe she told me...but again I could have the town wrong because as soon as that ice cream was gone, I needed to be as well. LOL
Well I originally had this photo ready to post about a week ago, but I was not 100% happy with the Honda in the parallel spot behind this Corvette. Got the bright idea this morning that I could utilize a different vantage of this Corvette (another more frontal shot), selectively change the color of the Vet to foil the average viewer, warp it into shape with the Free Transform tool, and I would then replace this altered car with the confounded Honda! In the interests of time I gave up on the ambitions project. Removed some people and a 2hr parking sign instead. Going to a sneak preview of Photoshop CS5 this next week where they will go over some of the slick features like 3D, and some amazing Content Aware scale features www.youtube.com/watch?v=NH0aEp1oDOI&feature=player_em... (@ the end of this video, check out the Content Aware Scale fill for Panoramas...WOW!). So nothing really special to this image, besides the great find and normal (for me normal, lol) processing.

The film advance was not working on this little beauty when I bought it so I had to figure out what was wrong. Figured out how to get in then adjusted the film counter height and now she's working like a treat.
There's a knack to getting the top off but it's easy when you know how. Remove the rewind knob by putting a screwdriver between the prongs and turning the rewind knob against them (RH Thread). Then make sure you have the camera ready to fire the next exposure, do this by opening the camera back and turn the film advance knob while moving the film sprocket (or have a dead film in the camera to do all this for you) until the advance locks.
Remove the advance knob (LH Thread). Depress the shutter release as far as it will go. There is a plate half way down the shutter button that you can hold down with a screw driver (from the front of the camera) once you've got the plate half off. Hold it down and ease the top plate back over the fully depressed shutter button. Then draw the plate back off and over the advance/rewind (A/R) lever and frame counter adjust wheel.
To put the plate back on you will need to reverse the process still make shutter is ready to fire to get the shutter button fully depressed. Good luck!

It is finally nice enough that I can take the top off for the spring/summer! Troy was messing around with the friggin antenna so it is blurry! I should have moved the Jeep a little to the left to cover up that background light. I took another shot where I had the moon in the shot too, but I must have bumped the camera during the shot because it has some ghosts in it. oh well, I should have had my remote with me. atozfabrication toyo tires
