Happy New Year! Wishing you all a phenomenal 2025! I began composing a collage of my top nine liked photos in 2024, but then realized they'd all be shots that were selected for In Explore, as that can automatically double, triple or quadruple the usual number of views and faves. While I'm always honored and grateful for photos selected for In Explore, I also feel I have many other photos that are equally worthy. So I decided to make 2 top nine collages, one for In Explore photos, and one for photos not selected for In Explore. I purposely did not label them. Do you have a favorite collage? I hope you enjoy both. Thank you all for your support, faves, follows and very kind comments!
. . . This sums up my 2020, 4 bird shots, 2 people, 2 sky shots, and one covered bridge! It would be nice if FB and Flickr had this same app, these are my most favored shots from Instagram 2020.

In 2024, I uploaded 272 images to Instagram (@tcizauskas). Of those, these nine images were my most popular (i.e., receiving the most 'likes'). Paradoxically, the number of views and 'likes' for my images dropped significantly in 2024 (vs. 2023 and 2022), even as I felt my photography to be compositionally improving.
Be that as it may, here they are...presented with hope for a healthier, safer, and more fulfilling year in 2025 for all.

☞ I ended 2024 with 927 'followers' on Instagram (vs. 922 in 2023).
☞ My 272 images accumulated 5.5K 'likes' from my followers, averaging 20 'likes' per image (down from 279 images, 8.1K 'likes, and an average of 29 'likes' per image in 2023). That being said, my likes/followers ratio this year (2%) is, according to the Top Nine website, "super high." (The 'likes' and views listed for both Instagram and Flickr were recorded on 31 December 2024. They may increase.)
☞ As in 2023, most of the images I uploaded to Instagram were taken with the Olympus OM-D E-M10 II, a "micro four-thirds" mirrorless camera, with interchangeable lenses. My most-used lens was the Olympus M. Zuiko M.40-150mm F4.0-5.6 R.
☞ Finally —again from the Top Nine website: "Based on your Top Nine score, you are in the top 1% of accounts with up to 1K followers! Based on our data analyzing millions of accounts, those with a similar following have an average of 19 likes per post. You have 6% more likes per post than the average!" With a lot of exclamation points.

Interrupting my London Group Photowalk uploads to add my Instagram 2022 Best Nine here.
Three London Architecture shots, two Purpleport models, two from Art Galleries and Museums, an old shot from Marrakech and a Burlesque dancer from the Rotolight stall at the Photography Show.

No one knew what 2020 had in store for the world, but for most people it wasn't a great year. Let's hope 2021 will be an improvement over 2020! All the photos happen to be from Monaco, Spain and France and even though they were posted in 2020, they were all taken prior to the COVID pandemic lockdowns and travel restrictions. So, as seems customary this time of year, it's time for our #topnine. It's been a weird year and it seems we've got a range of pictures to match - from Trump's injectable bleach to a bike shed we painted. I'm glad that the video of our overcomplicated 3-in-1 Muhammad Ali mural came in at no.1. It was based on a sketch my dad did in the 70's and is probably the piece i'm most proud of this year. I just hope we get a chance to expand on the 3-in-1 theme next year. See you on the flip side...

Another year has come to a close and the end of a decade has arrived. These are the #2019bestnine #Instagram photos from the #TreasuresOfTraveling blog. I love that the majority of the nine photos displayed are of mother nature's beauty! Whether it was a picture of a sunrise, the blood wolf moon or of waves crashing onto Kure Beach, the photos were mostly taken of natural beauty we can see and experience in the world around us! The last few photos were taken in Granada, Spain. This Spanish city is unique because of its incredible mix of cultures. I want to thank everyone for coming along on the journey with me, liking the photos, reading my stories and showing your support! I appreciate all the comments, the follows and the likes! 2019 was the end of a decade and I'm excited for 2020 because I know it will be a fantastic start to the next decade! New Years Eve is often a time for reflection, particularly as it's the first time I'm spending it on my own having ruled out going to a NYE party as I'm feeling rough.....
As is now a New Year tradition I've produced a 'Top Nine' for my Instagram account, www.instagram.com/dgphotos.co.uk/ , and it's a fairly accurate reflection of my photography as it features some architecture, some LightpainterUK shots and some portraiture. Interestingly every single one fo these was shot in London.
According to topnine.co , my Instagram 'Top Nine' score is 92. Not sure though whether that's out of 100 or 1 million......
It states "In 2023 you got 1.6K likes to your 59 posts, an average of 28 likes per post. Your likes/followers ratio is super high! That’s 4% of your 752 followers liking your posts on average.
Based on your Top Nine score, you are in the top 1% of accounts with up to 1K followers!
Based on our data analyzing millions of accounts, those with a similar following have an average of 26 likes per post. You have 6% more likes/post than the average!"
Certainly doesn't feel like I'm in the top 1% of accounts with up to 1000 followers but I suspect that, like most people (?) I've encountered a significant drop-off in Instagram activity during the past year.
