Back when ATSF CW44-9 No. 692 was built in 1994, railroads (and builders) were beginning to switch to more ecologically sound paints. There were some painful lessons to be learned, among them that the paint wasn't any better than the topcoat. Such was the case here as No. 692 leads a westbound BNSF intermodal train upgrade near Bannock, CA on March 12, 2005.
Another self portrait. The room I built from painted plywood and the door is a dollhouse door that I stained and topcoated. I then photoshopped myself into the tiny room to give more of a feeling of a vast space.
2x Medallion (China Glaze)
Galloways in verschneiter Landschaft.
Galloways in the snowy landscape.
A key feature of Galloways is their double-layered coat with a long, wavy topcoat and fine, dense undercoat. This and their comparatively thick skin as well as the adapted thrifty metabolism make the Galloways particularly hardy. This is why they can survive harsh winters outdoors without any problems. Today, Galloways are bred worldwide in the pigmentations "black" (black), "dun" (fawn, yellow-brown) and "red" (red-brown).

The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate, the one-mile-wide (1.6 km) strait connecting San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The structure links the American city of San Francisco, California – the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula – to Marin County, carrying both U.S. Route 101 and California State Route 1 across the strait. The bridge is one of the most internationally recognized symbols of San Francisco, California, and the United States. It has been declared one of the Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers.[7]
The Frommer's travel guide describes the Golden Gate Bridge as "possibly the most beautiful, certainly the most photographed, bridge in the world."[8] It opened in 1937 and was, until 1964, the longest suspension bridge main span in the world, at 4,200 feet (1,280 m).
Although the idea of a bridge spanning the Golden Gate was not new, the proposal that eventually took hold was made in a 1916 San Francisco Bulletin article by former engineering student James Wilkins.[15] San Francisco's City Engineer estimated the cost at $100 million, which would have been $2.12 billion in 2009, and impractical for the time. He asked bridge engineers whether it could be built for less.[9] One who responded, Joseph Strauss, was an ambitious engineer and poet who had, for his graduate thesis, designed a 55-mile-long (89 km) railroad bridge across the Bering Strait.[16] At the time, Strauss had completed some 400 drawbridges—most of which were inland—and nothing on the scale of the new project.[3] Strauss's initial drawings[15] were for a massive cantilever on each side of the strait, connected by a central suspension segment, which Strauss promised could be built for $17 million.[9]
The famous International Orange color was originally used as a sealant for the bridge.[23] The US Navy had wanted it to be painted with black and yellow stripes to ensure visibility by passing ships.[13]
The color of the bridge is officially an orange vermilion called international orange.[43] The color was selected by consulting architect Irving Morrow[44] because it complements the natural surroundings and enhances the bridge's visibility in fog. Aesthetics was the foremost reason why the first design of Joseph Strauss was rejected. Upon re-submission of his bridge construction plan, he added details, such as lighting, to outline the bridge's cables and towers.[45] In 1999, it was ranked fifth on the List of America's Favorite Architecture by the American Institute of Architects.
The bridge was originally painted with red lead primer and a lead-based topcoat, which was touched up as required. In the mid-1960s, a program was started to improve corrosion protection by stripping the original paint and repainting the bridge with zinc silicate primer and vinyl topcoats.[46][47] Since 1990, acrylic topcoats have been used instead for air-quality reasons. The program was completed in 1995 and it is now maintained by 38 painters who touch up the paintwork where it becomes seriously corroded.[48]
monday morning, we got the biggest snow we've had all winter... even though it's spring now! it still wasn't much, and it didn't last long, but alice was thrilled with it anyway. she loves snow!! loves to play in it, loves to lay in it, loves to just stand and bask in it's glory... i think her chow chow undercoat and water-proof retriever topcoat keep her so warm that she just doesn't notice how cold it is.
according to alice, it was the "best day ever" although, for my browngirl, every day is the best day ever. :)
Much of its time was spent in this tall, upright position. What a long, lean animal! Wow, just noticed that this made Explore #4 today, 28th December 2006!! Thanks everyone - very much appreciated!
"Counting its tail, a large Long-tailed Weasel male, the largest of the three species in Canada, stretches nearly half a metre (20 in) in length, yet can slip into a hole just 3 cm (1.25 in) across. This enables it to enter small rodent tunnels used by mice and voles. In summer, it enters ground squirrels burrows in search of its favourite food. Average males measure 406 mm (16 in), their tail is 135 mm (5.25) long and they weigh 225 g (12.6 oz). Males are approximately 25 per cent larger than females, which on average weigh only 102 g (5.7 oz).
When winter approaches, within 30 days it grows a coat of white, giving it perfect camouflage against the snow -- all except for the tip of its tail, which stays black. A hungry predator, such as a hawk or owl, aims for that black tip, enabling the weasel to escape. Towards spring, between late February and April, in only 25 days, it reverses the process, acquiring the cinnamon-brown topcoat it will use all summer. This includes brown feet, unlike the other two species which retain white feet. The underside is usually buff-coloured." (Taken from the weaselhead.org website).
Valentino Rossi decided to dress up as Santa Claus because there is the Siberian wind and snow on arrival this evening!!!!!
Anyway, he is Lagotto Romagnolo dog, also known as the Romagna Water Dog breed, was originally a water dog breed, but history gave it a new job: sniffing out truffles.
His coat is dense, curly, doublecoated, waterproof topcoat and undercoat, woolly.
He doesn't need to be dressed up as Santa Claus to keep warm. :-)))

Just over a week ago, on 24 November 2014, I called in at Fish Creek Park to see if there was any sign of the Long-tailed Weasel. It did come out, but for maybe five minutes total, running around at top speed. I managed to get three or four shots, including this one, but that was all. Not the best composition, but usually there is no time to compose - you just point and click rapidly and hope that one photo will come out OK.
Since then, I’ve called in maybe three or four times recently, but there has been no sign of the Weasel and no tracks in the snow. I wonder if s/he is tucked down in its den, surrounded by all the many dead Meadow Voles that we have seen it catch recently. Weasels line their nests/dens with the fur from the animals they kill. Hopefully, it has not provided the nearby Great Horned Owl pair with a supper or two!

“The long-tailed weasel mates in July–August, with implantation of the fertilized egg on the uterine wall being delayed until about March. The gestation period lasts 10 months, with actual embryonic development taking place only during the last four weeks of this period, an adaptation to timing births for spring, when small mammals are abundant. Litter size generally consists of 5–8 kits, which are born in April–May.” From Wikipedia.

The light was gray and dull outside today; but that didn't bother Fyero and her quest to watch the squirrels plant random seeds and bulbs in my yard, she took a quick break to pose on the arm of the couch for me.
Luckily she did too, I'm feeling somewhat drained today and really didn't have the motivation to go hunting for a photo.
Hope everyone has had a good day.

Beijo
Young men in Victorian clothes pose after singing Christmas Carols in a choir with their female counterparts during the Dickens on the Strand in Galveston, Texas.
Váááárias pessoas vieram me perguntar dele, pq ele é realmente mto chamativo e diferente!
Eu ameiiii!!! Vou usar mtooooo!!!
..:: More information in my blog Ashraf Rathmullah. The link is in information and all my links ::..
Resumindo, vale muitoooo a pena! tanto q quero fazer estoque dele! e vou fazer! KK me socorre!!!!! hahaha....
Bjs!!!!
After missing almost all the birding walks with friends in the spring and fall, I pushed myself out the front door on 17 November 2014 and joined them for a leisurely walk in Fish Creek Park.
I left them shortly before the end of the walk and called in to see if there was any sign of the little Long-tailed Weasel that I had seen three days earlier, on 13 November. A few friends had the same idea, so it was nice to have people to talk to while we watched and waited. We were lucky enough to see the little Weasel and I was able to get a few shots. The first time the Weasel appeared, my camera wouldn't function at all and I missed some good chances. Thankfully, I discovered that I had accidentally moved a small lever on the side of the camera to a different position - so easily done at any time, but especially so when wearing a pair of fleece winter gloves over a pair of thin knitted gloves. The local Black-capped Chickadees and a little White-breasted Nuthatch kept us company while we stood and waited. The Weasel is so hard to photograph, as it runs fast across the snow-covered ground, rarely stopping. This photo was taken when it stopped for a few brief seconds and stared at the line of people who were watching it.

Oi menines*
Tudo bem por ai? Espero que sim! : )
Usei:
1x Base Hipoalergênica - Casco Cavalo
2x Prateado Metálico - Colorama

• No anelar:

When touring the moors on Exmoor, Somerset on a previous holiday we found a small herd of Exmoor ponies, and I was able to gradually and steadily get quite close to these two grazing to get this shot!
These were free-roaming ponies. The Exmoor pony is a horse breed native to the British Isles, where some still roam as semi-feral livestock on Exmoor, a large area of moorland in Devon and Somerset in southwest England. The Exmoor has been given "endangered" status by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust, and "threatened" status by The Livestock Conservancy. It is one of the British Isles' mountain and moorland pony breeds, having conformation similar to that of other cold-weather-adapted pony breeds. The Exmoor pony is hardy and used for a variety of equestrian activities. In its free-roaming state, the breed's presence on Exmoor contributes to the conservation and management of several natural pasture habitats. The head is somewhat large in proportion to the body, with small ears, and has a unique feature called a "toad eye" caused by extra fleshiness of the eyelids, which helps to deflect water and provide extra insulation. As with most cold-weather pony breeds, the Exmoor grows a winter coat consisting of a highly insulating woolly underlayer and a topcoat of longer, oily hairs that prevent the undercoat from becoming waterlogged by diverting water down the sides of the animal to fall from just a few drip areas. The mane and tail are thick and long, and the dock of the tail is of a type common in cold-weather ponies, having coarse hairs, called a "frost cap," "snow chute," or "ice tail" that deflects rainwater away from the groin and underbelly areas to fall from the long hairs on the back of the hind legs.

I didn't buy this color for myself --it was for my daughter -- but I did a quick application (two coats followed by a top coat) to see if I liked it. I'm not so sure I do! She envisions it as a color for her toes, and perhaps it would look better on her. I'm underwhelmed.
2x For Audrey, China Glaze
Just a simple candid street street style Snapograph taken at Kent UK of three people sitting on the beach with their top coats on maybe Waiting For The Sun.
I'm also working on a personal project called Faceless and this will be one of the shots included.

"THANK YOU KINDLY" to anyone who finds this shot good enough to put amongst their "FAVES".
"THANK YOU KINDLY" to anyone who finds this shot good enough to leave a "Comment", I'll do my very best to reply to you individually.
Me joguei!
A base é cremosa, simples.
Eu usei:
1x Nutribase Pró fortalecimento, Colorama
3x Azul Sensacional, L'Apogée
1x Topcoat, Vefic

Olha eu aqui outra vez! :DD
Agora sim eu vim mostrar a belezura do dia... Gente, agora eu me pergunto, porque eu não comprei esse esmalte antes? Ele é muitooo lindoooo! Não paro de olhar pras minhas unhas! *--------*
