Sharpening my standard lathe tool. The grinding wheel is rated at 3600 RPM, but I'm only running it at about 1200 so the forces are very much reduced. It only takes one swipe at very low pressure on the tool.
My friend Carolyn and I have been known to explore a few historic places over the years. It is kind of our thing, and it all started innocently enough as hiking adventures that have slowly evolved into full-on traveling adventures. This image is from our early days, we went for a hike at Stone Mountain Park in Atlanta and ended up checking out the "park" part of Stone Mountain which meant exploring some historic buildings and such. As it turns out, I love this kind of thing! I shot this historic family dwelling using a sepia filter I created in my camera, a true brown and white monochrome. This scene was perfect and helped transport me back in time.
This image was taken in JPG using only the settings in my camera, there was no post-processing or editing.
