I knew I wanted to do a paper banner for the "sweet Shoppe" but didn't want to mount on the wall behind the table. My husband was nice enough to help me construct this stand from plywood and 2" PVC pipes. The poles are wrapped with ribbon and the balloons are held in place with weights placed down the center of the tubes. The paper banner was inspired by The TomKat Studio.

It started as just a joke about how wide Katie Holmes' mouth was in this picture... and then it took on a life of its own.

Across town from the glitter of Hollywood Boulevard stands the Tomkat adult cinema theatre. It was formerly The Pussycat Theatre and for a brief period in the 1970's that has since become known as porno chic, Pussycat theatres were the centre of the adult entertainment world.
The Pussycat theatres that sprang up all over the USA were know for their smart decor and for a helped give adult films a sheen of respectability. Now somewhat dilapidated the original Pussycat Theatre on 7734 Santa Monica Boulevard is the last remaining example of the chain. Rebranded Tomkat the theatre now caters for gay audiences.

While waiting for E, who was attending a fashion career fair, I hung out with the N.Y.C. paparazzi in front of the Scientology building on 18th street for about two hours. I asked them what the big idea was. With a bored look on this tall bearded dudes face he said, Tom Cruise is arriving soon.I really had nothing else to do so I decided to hang around with this odd group of photographers and camera men.They seem belong to some sort of club, a strange cast of characters who joke back and forth while reminiscing about old times. Like when Tom broke one photographers nose with the car door. Anyway, being someone who loves photography I found this gang strangely fascinating and immediately wanted to belong. Only one problem...I had not one camera in my possession!!! Rushed to catch the train I was unable to retrieve my bag, all I had was this lame camera phone and the fact that I still got this crappy image makes the whole story complete. All in all the paparazzi where the real story, they are far more interesting than TomKat could ever be!

I got to meet with the famous Robert Evans at his studio in Universal City. He shot the wedding of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes and Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston. Amazing work this guy does with a creative eye for lines and lighting.
It creatively was uplifting and such a blast to actually talk in person with him and his fantastic assistant Shannon! Thanks you guys for meeting up!
