Britain stands for freedom, democracy and freedom of speech. Yet again these things stand at a point of history where some would try to destroy them. The threats have always been there but today those who would try to destroy the foundations of our society are more active than ever. Today we remember those before us who defended our way of life and sacrificed theirs so that we might live in peace. We must never forget what they did for us. Our heroes.

I had lived a long life; a good life. When it was my time to go, I went peacefully in my sleep. I know not many are as fortunate, and I am thankful. I had done my best to be a good person in my life, and I hoped to be rewarded with a peaceful, happy next stage of my existence.
I wasn't sure what to expect afterwards once I finally saw that light. It was time to go. I took a deep breath and stepped through.
"Hey."
That voice. I know that voice. My eyes blinked quickly, struggling to adjust. In view before me was the man I had loved for so long and started my family with but had lost many years ago. He had always greeted me just like that. Happy tears began to fill my eyes as I took in his angelic beauty. Those old pictures just never could do him justice. And here he was to welcome me just as I had dared to hope!
"Hey," I replied softly reaching out to touch his extended hand. Immediately I heard my voice was sweet and gentle, my skin smooth and unwrinkled as it was in my youth. His fingers closed over mine and he drew me close and smiled warmly, his blue eyes shining with joyful emotion. "I told you I would wait for you," he reminded me as his fingers touched my own, "and now we're together again."
