A beautiful 186-foot-high waterfall, Toccoa Falls is one of the tallest free-falling waterfalls east of the Mississippi River. It is located on the campus of Toccoa Falls College, a four-year, fully accredited Christian college located in the mountains of North Georgia.

I really liked this vantage point. It doesn't convey the hight of the falls, but I liked it.

186-foot high Toccoa Falls on a cloudy day. This is a vertical panorama.

Over spring break we visited the highlands of NC and made a day trip down to Toccoa Falls in Georgia.

 

The falls is very easy to get to. There is a paved path all the way and it's very short. There is a cost of $1/adult to visit the falls.

 

This is a 3 shot HDR to try and bring out the detail as the top of the water fall was in the sunlight.

Toccoa Falls

- Toccoa Falls is a beautiful 186-foot-high free-falling waterfall and is one of the tallest single drop waterfalls east of the Mississippi River. It is located on the edge of the Piedmont region and in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of north Georgia. It stands is 19 feet higher than Niagara Falls. Toccoa was the Cherokee word for "beautiful" and Toccoa Falls is one of the many waterfalls of North Georgia.

Toccoa Falls waterfall, with a vertical drop of 186 feet (57 m), is located on the campus of Toccoa Falls College in Stephens County, Georgia. Toccoa is the Cherokee word for beautiful.
