"The Ecstasy of Saint Francis" c. 1660, by Francisco de Zurbarán, Spanish painter.

He is known primarily for his religious paintings depicting monks, nuns, and martyrs, and for his still-lifes. Zurbarán gained the nickname "Spanish Caravaggio", owing to the forcible, realistic use of "chiaroscuro" in which he excelled

Have a superb weekend xxx

"I like my shadow; it reminds me that I exist."

Quote - Mehmet Murat Ildan

"""These two dragons muse on the proposition of how it is possible that they have a shadow (and therefore exist) and at the same time that they are only imaginary and do not exist……

Meanwhile they are enjoying the warmth of the sun.

To be or not to be, that's the question?"""

Have a wonderful start of your weekend, my friends ;-))

to be or not to be

These are the moments of pure being, moments of pulsating life when you feel connected with everything and it´s for sure you are in the right place at the right time. At least thats how I felt by capturing this.

Back in August I was on a quick visit to Elsinore. It wasn't a great success but I managed to get this shot of Kronborg Castle (the real name of Elsnore Castle from Hamlet).

Elsinore and the castle, which is a museum today, is well worth a visit if you are ever in Copenhagen.

La question la plus importante pour moi était de savoir combien il y en avait.

Woohooo, it's finally Friday afternoon - work is finished for the week and all that remains is a quick sleep before the long trip overnight to Glasgow by car.

Poe decided that it would be easier for me to fall asleep if he was to read me some of his favourite poems such as "To Be Ugly or Not To Be" and "There's Cookies On The Starboard Bow" by the famous author from Uglyworld, Sir Reginald the Ugly.

Here's a few quick lines from the poems mentioned above:-

"To be ugly or not to be ugly, that is the question

If the cookie's in your belly, it's time for digestion

Where to look next, for that next elusive batch

Anywhere, everywhere, just find them and snatch!!!"

"There's cookies on the starboard bow

Starboard bow, starboard bow

There's cookies on the starboard bow

So someone save them now..."

It worked, time for my sleep...

Something a bit more serious with week's Flickr Friday. While a lot of folks seem to have preferred running with something referencing the "alas, poor Yorick" monologue (using a skull prop), I wanted to set my photo apart and stay closer to the spirit of the subject soliloquy ("To be or not to be..."). The Yorick scene is meant to be lighter (though macabre), while this scene was always meant to be a fair bit more dark.

To fight or not to fight that is the question !

Today we, ahem, 'adventurously' braved the cold wind, the gloom and the mud and went to have a look at the area where the Battle of Bosworth was fought. This was where the last of the Plantaganets, Richard III fell and the Tudors began their dynastic rule.

Interest in this era has increased after Richard's remains were found under a carpark in 2012 and there is a running debate over the exact location of the battlefield.

I then had a minor adventure in Gimp.

THAT IS THE BIG QUESTION OF LIFE (With a nod to SHAKESPEARE)===😁😁😁

Did you ever have to make up your mind?

Pick up on one and leave the other one behind

It's not often easy and not often kind

Did you ever have to make up your mind?

Did you ever have to finally decide?

And say yes to one and let the other one ride

There's so many changes and tears you must hide

Did you ever have to finally decide?

- John Sebastian
