F-BPPA is the registration number of a former Aero Spacelines Super Guppy Turbine aircraft, specifically the second one built. It was - quite ironically - originally built from former USAF Boeing KC-97 parts. It first flew as N212AS before being acquired by Aeromaritime/Airbus Industrie and re-registered as F-BPPA in 1973. It was used to transport aircraft components between Airbus factories and is now preserved at the Aeroscopia Museum in Toulouse. In other words - without Boeing Airbus would never have been able to become so successful...
No, it's not the first A300, yet wears the A300B1 prototype colours (and registration F-WUAB); however, this proud bird was originally delivered to Pan Am as N210PA in April 1984 (c/n 238)...
