With the thermometer reading 19° F ( -7 Celsius) out there the closest I'll be getting to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade today is the Sony in my living room.
But wherever you are warm or cold, celebrating or not, have a wonderful day.
There is a lot of construction going on in Times Square, so some sight lines are less than ideal. The bright lights at night seem to distract from all the street obstructions.

In the solstice night, in a silent Circus in the suburbs, the performers sleep before the big show of next day.
The nightshift guardian lets me in for taking a quick catch of this unusual calmness.

The TKTS booth in Times Square is a great place to get day-of-show theater tickets for a significant discount. The Times Square location is the most popular, but it's actually one of 3 TKTS booth locations. We used the booth to get tickets to "Once" which was great, but I still liked the movie better. They tweaked a little bit of the story to adapt it to the stage, which I understand, but it wasn't quite the same. If you go to Once, get there early and grab a drink on stage, the stage is a bar, and before the show they use it to serve drinks.

A sign for the (discount) TKTS booth on Broadway in Times Square. The panel with the orange lights lists the start time and the discount percentage for each show with discounted tickets available. If a show has a "P" beside it, it's a play. That means you can stand in the (relatively) short and quick-moving "Play Express" line to get tickets for it, which we did.

Visit the TKTS ticket booth in London's Leicester Square to buy tickets to shows on the same day and even up to a week in advance, with most at a discount. You can take your pick from musicals, plays, comedy, dance and opera.
We got tickets to see Jersey Boys, at a considerable discount, and enjoyed a great night in London's famous West End. It felt a bit odd though, traveling from New York to London and then seeing a musical about some guys from New Jersey.
