I'm thrilled to be participating in the 11th Enormous Tiny Art Show at Nahcotta! I had a chance to preview some of the work yesterday and, oh my, there is so much goodness from this wonderful group of artists. It's such a privilege to be part of this show!

We're psyched to be sharing more originals in the Baby Gallery this month.
This time it is Katie Commodore and erotic scrimshaw art. Scrimshaw is historically associated with New England whalers carving into bone and ivory and carrying these objects of affection with them over the long nights at sea.
Katie uses the tops of piano keys as her ivory, carving naughty pictures of her friends, live and in the act.
The intimacy of the moment lives on for the collector, who is encouraged to hold the sensual ivory in hand, just as the whalers and pianists of yore.
The opening was a great success and nearly half the show is sold out, at $50 and $150 for gorgeous original artwork, who can resist?

Yeah, this piece is pretty tiny. I was bored and wanted to do some little stuff on scraps of paper. I try to follow the Native American example and not waste anything when it comes to materials. Sometimes working in this varied format yields good results. This was a fun drawing.

I like the combination of old/modern quite a bit.
This was made of a recycled shipping palette. Not 100% sure on the wood. Fairly soft but doesn't make me sneeze on command so not pine. ;)
