I have a few more macro shots that I took for the last Macro Monday's holiday bokeh theme and wanted to share them with you while still in holiday mode. These are fine details on one tinsel ball using 3 extension tubes on my 100 mm macro lens.
Part of the new promenade at Blackpool bathed in late afternoon sunshine giving an alien effect in black and white.
Maria and I went to a local neighborhood where they do the full-on Christmas lights display. I took a tripod with me and took a few long exposure images while zooming my lens.
I am so ready for winter and snow. :)

Who knew that tinsel was such fun to photograph? This is just an old piece of it that I found up in the attic when I was looking for something else and then I lay on the floor for a while taking pictures of it. Sounds unproductive, right? This was when I was having to wait in for an electrician that never showed and before I did a load of errands, finished off my Christmas shopping, and went out for dinner and to the cinema with some friends. And got a fence shot for tomorrow, of course. :)
After the rain, as the sun is out, it looks like tinsel is hanging off the branches of a Redwood tree.
a tinsel rope that you hang on a christmas tree-- *very* close up. this may be the choice for the second one cause i like the colorful bokeh!!
the macromonday theme for this week is high key so i had a grand old time. took 202 practice shots and these are the 'best' ones. now to choose a second one-- the kitty was the first.
May your Christmas and New Year be a Happy and Healthy one.
Time for reflection
This little bell bauble belonged to my Mum. I’m thinking of both my Mum and Dad at this time, remembering all the wonderful times we had, particularly at Christmas. The presents we received weren’t grand or expensive, we got good old board games, selection boxes, annuals. We played party games and sang carols around the piano; Little Donkey, Mary’s Boy Child and my Dad loved the macabre Mistletoe Bough! So I’m raising a glass to all my family who are sadly no longer with us tonight. Thank you for making my Christmases so magical 😘
Carol of the Bells. Play this loud!!
