Macro Monday

Theme: Zigzag

Size: Less than 3x3 inches

The subject is my trusty tin foil folded in a zigzag fashion and two small paper zigzag shapes all placed on a mirror.

3 light sources, table lamp at 2 o'clock, and LED torch light at 6 o'clock and another table lamp at 7 o'clock.

The colours are from small pieces of coloured plastic paper.

I went out the other night, still struggling a bit but I decided to have a play about, by simply dribbling on my finger, smearing it onto the lens and taking an LE just to see what it would look like, well, all I can say in so far as a description goes, was something that resembles an inebriated migraine! However, I saw sense, finally, and took this monochrome LE on what was a slightly misty night and yea, it's OK methinks.

In the meantime the CIA blew up the Nordstream Pipeline, thus I would surmise from that it's time to take advice from a Doomsday-Prepper and no I am not joking, start stocking up; oh and just in time to hate on China now, as apparently the Covid virus was released from Wuhan, from which Fauci the Cult-Owned Fakey was profiteering from, because also they're apparently arming Russia even though Russia is winning the war against Ukraine anyway, which is what was ALL predicted by us tinfoil hat wearing conspiracy theorists, as what we were warning you about 2 years ago! Ho Hum! Same shit different day! They're all shadow government / cult owned puppets anyway and if you really think they give 2 shits about you, see East Palestine in Ohio as an example of just how much they care, by handing over 10.3 billion dollars, to Zelensky!

I hope everyone is well and so as always, thank you! :)

For #MacroMondays and this week's theme #Foil.

Happy Macro Monday!

Thanks for all your faves and comments everyone!

I really appreciate them!

#Redux

#Brush

#High Key (sort of)

Please press "Z".

I've missed so many themes in 2020, so there was plenty to choose from – but the "Brush" theme from March actually wasn't on top of my list of what to do for Redux at all; in fact when I flipped through my "MM 2020" folder I even noticed that I'd skipped the theme already back in March: So how should I be able to come up with a nice photo just now?

Well, first of all there is this new brush that I've just bought and which is still in it's "virgin" state, because I thought I'd take a macro of it before I start using it in undoubtely futile attempts at taming my by now totally come apart haircut. So far, so boring. And I really thought that the first few test shots were kind of boring, until... well, until I looked at them on the monitor and noticed this perfectly sharp reflection of the bristles in the round tip of one single bristle (which is only 3 mm / 0,11 inches long). Something I hadn't even noticed while taking the photo.

Unfortunately, this first chance hit wasn't such a well composed image, because the in focus bristles are not where one would like to see them (rule of thirds), so I tried to reproduce the reflection. Have you ever used a magnifying glass to check your camera screen? This is what I did. And while I managed to get sharper, better composed images, I wasn't able to reproduce that clear and sharp reflection; I got reflections, but they never looked as nice and bright as the one(s) I got in my first attempt. So I decided to go with what I already had, clumsy composition or not. I thought about cropping the image, but that would have taken away the nice bokeh and golden sheen (light reflected by a piece of golden tinfoil) from the upper part of my image. What I also like are those "eyes" on the bristle tips, although they seem to say "Forget it, you'll never get your hair right!" ;)

HMM, Everyone! I wish you a Happy, Healthy New Year. Let's hope 2021 will be a better year than 2020. Stay safe and take care!

I thought this looked a little bit like a ray. When I zoomed in on my image, the white flap reminded me of their "wings" . I wanted to clone out the green thingy on the right but then it reminded me of a fish and I thought it could be one of those little fishes that attach themselves to bigger fish. I have no idea what it actually is.

In reality this is the inside of an empty foil crisp bag with a "silver lining". I cut a hole in the back of it and stuck a little torch through which I covered in a green candy wrapper. Underneath the bag is normal kitchen foil. I cropped it hard and gave the image more of a blue tint than it originally had.

the first time I have seen lenticular clouds here... out my back door

Who puts all the wrappers back in the tin so that you have to root around to find the last chocolate? I must admit I like the experience and splinters of light and rainbow colour when shifting through all the discarded wrappers. So lovely too as children to flatten out the silver paper, with the back of a fingernail, til it was smooth as a coloured mirror. Did you also collect the coloured cellophane to make small stained glass windows until the holidays ended. The box of chocolates was as always a gift from the same person. Photo taken for Macro Mondays.

HAPPY MACRO MONDAY!

More reflections on tin 'foil' , the theme for Macro Monday today. Playing with the foil and a rainbow - coloured, shiny craft paper for colourful reflections on the silvery surface, many stories came to my mind.

Here I must think of the poor people who live in the areas with horrible fires. Sending best wishes for a soon end of this catastrophy.

Created for Macro Mondays, theme Trash. Tinfoil of chocolate Easter eggs

...or just the golden lid of a face cream, closed with a black velvet cloth underneath, placed inside a glass (invisible because of the piece of velvet) which was put sideways on an open coffee pot. This construction kept the lid parallel to the camera lense. The reflections of a crinkled piece of orange toffee tinfoil lit by a small LED lamp completed the setting.

Phhhh, a lot of 'construction work' to square the circle ;) but fun, too.

Enjoy your squared circle day, dear Flickr friends.

BENNY: (looks in the candy jar)

Yummy....filled chocolate mice!

There are two left. One for me and one for my friend Jago

(Benny tries to get the mice out of the jar.)

BENNY;

Damn...it doesn't work

How do I get those mice out?

Let me think.......

Yep....I have an idea.

Mummy....can I play with the crane ??

ME:

I don't know. It belongs to Jan (Mummy's husband).

BENNY:

Jago is sad because he misses his sister. I thought maybe I can make him happy and ask him to play with me.

ME:

That's sweet of you Benny and a good idea. It will be ok for Jan. Promise me you'll play with it carefully Benny.

BENNY:

Of course we do Mummy

Thank you.

Let's see how it works. (pushes the button to operate the crane).

Awesome!!!!

(The grab goes down slowly in the jar)

When the grab appears again it returns with a chocolate mouse wrapped in yellow tinfoil.)

Bingo!!!!!!!

Now that other mouse for Jago.

I am a genius if I do say so myself!!!!

This is the top section of the same icicle bunch from my "Foiled" image (link: flic.kr/p/r3X5cy) taken the next day. As they continued to melt, they lost the tinfoil look and started to take on the appearance of a polished stone.

I figured a sunset image is fitting for Sunday; a sunset closes the day...Sunday closes the weekend...and they both have the word "sun" ;-)

Don't forget to zoom in! Enjoy your Sunday, my friends!

I have finally given up on the idea of space travel from my fishing bivvy ( tent ). The highest I ever got was just over fifty feet. Just couldn't get enough vooooom into the air.

After accidentally killing two farmers cows recently, in the adjacent field to the lake, and getting through over 100 tinfoil groundsheets. I decided it was time to call it a day.

Wearing this versatile hat so THEY cannot read my mind! Whatever they're trying to tell you, it's all fake. Don't even read the mass media, they are earning money with their lies! The truth must be free and easy to understand, like black and white - colour is deception, lulling your mind with absurdities as Covid and Climate Change. Everyhing beginning with the letter "C" is fake, like Clowns and Circus. It's all pretense, do not believe THEM.

Come on, Mad Martin, you need to take your dried frog pills, and here's a jacket. Yes, the sleeves are long and it closes on the back. Yes, yes, for safety reasons, to confuse Them. *sigh*

I hope there's enough foil in the picture to satisfy today's rules. The measurements are just below 7,5 cm, checked that a few times with a ruler.

Gacha Garden

S&P Mainstore

The last big country in western Europe left for me to see. Prettier than I expected and I think I will visit it again, well, we have the sticker to drive there for one year, so it makes sense :)

It was rainy and the light was not ideal for a quick photo, but somehow there was enough information on it to work it. I like the end result.

It's more for practicing, I really doubt this perspective is new and that its not been done 1000's of times. That tought sometimes pushes me down, whats the point of making another photo of the same spot that every tourist make? Why not just buying a postcard and look for one in internet from someone with better skills and just save the hassle? No idea, but I am afraid one day I might give in to these toughts.

What if there is a solar flare that wipes all the electronic data and all is lost? The huge collective look of humanity would be something worth taking a photo of, but the cameras wouldnt work. Should I be paranoic and have some physical backups? Maybe, and also get a tinfoil hat while I am at it.

Macro Monday: #Junk

Size of the frame: 6 x 4,5 cm / 2,3 x 1,7 inches; height of the "vase": 2,1 cm / 0,82 inches

When I read that "Junk" was going to be the new MM theme, I immediately thought of my Macro Monday prop box. Because it's full of junk. Full of stuff, odds and ends, bits and pieces, macro paraphernalia... things I've kept, things I'm keeping, because they might come in handy for a photo one sunny, funny, far away day ;-) So basically everything you see in this capture is junk. Starting with the "vase", which actually is the broken-off neck of a small glass vial that contained concentrated inhalant, through to the dried rose hip - which I'd collected last year on a walk and which has been sitting, err was "arranged" (together with its sisters including leaves) as a most elaborate rose hip bouquet in a glass filled with bird sand (which I'd bought for MMs, too, but only ever used once, because you all know that sand and lenses...) - and the golden "doily" which actually began its life as a tinfoil bottle collar. The orange (rowan?) berries, snowberries and tiny daisies are junk, too, leftovers from an autumnal living room bouquet.

I wanted to make the junk look pretty, precious even, so I thought of arranging a little low key still life right away (I'd used the vial for a flower still life before, please see first comment). The setup was rather straightforward. I'd fixated the vial on the "doily" with modeling clay (and since this is all about junk I didn't retouch the piece of modeling clay either). Captured with in-camera focus stacking which again was difficult, because I never seemed to get the rose hip sharp - so in the end I combined four focus-stacked jpgs (I had set a different focus point for each focus stacking "run-through") with Photomerge in PS. Processed entirely in Luminar 3, added a LUT filter ("Thoreau") in ON1 Photo Raw and applied some final touches in Analog Efex.

A Happy Macro Monday, Everyone, and have a pleasant week ahead, dear Flickr friends!

what a funny result ! my oof doggie :)

. read instructions and forget them

. no holes were drilled in caps for this picture

. just poke a hole in some tinfoil

. wrap the tinfoil around the camera

. unwrap and place the hole in front of the sensor (!)

. experiment and get nowhere

. get frustrated

. make the hole a bit bigger the next day

. put life view on (there we go)

. experiment with various shutter speeds

. try to get the dog in front of the tinfoil

. ditch the tripod (it's not for me and it scares the dog)

. edit the OOF shot in analog pro and silver efex pro

. get sensor cleaned

. be grateful for lenses ;)

Tonight's dinner

Add a little olive oil to a large skillet, add chopped pepper tops, chopped onions, chopped mushrooms, sausage meat (broken up into smallish pieces), tomato sauce and simmer until the meat is browned and the vegetables are soft. Cooks for about 15 minutes.

To the above skillet now add garlic powder, salt and pepper, seasoned breadcrumbs, shredded Mozzarella, grated cheese, and diced garlic to the mix.

Stuff the peppers and cook on a hot barbecue in a tinfoil pan for about 45-50 minutes. I start with a little olive oil in the pan, but towards the end of the cooking time (last 15 minutes) I add about 1/3 cup water and place tinfoil over top of pan.

I really decided to give myself a challenge today, two snails and I worked with a gel on my flash. I aimed the flash with a blue gel at my tinfoil bokeh background. My state decided that we are ready to start lifting some of the restrictions that have been in place since our stay in place order began. Hopefully they have plans in place and are not just winging it. How is life right now where you are? Lock down or restrictions lifted? Also, how are you feeling about going back out, do you feel safe?
