Вот такой "салют" в завершении Дня Омича дали из Байконура ;-) Многие очевидцы (а парк был переполнен в этот поздний час) поспешили объявить, что на Праздник прилетело НЛО и даже собирались вступить в контакт...
Космонавты испугались и улетели на МКС ;-) И кто-то , похоже, выбросил окурок в иллюминатор. Видите чёрточку ниже корабля - это наверняка отделение окурка ;-)
Кто-нибудь знает, как в РосКосмос пожаловаться можно? ;-)

The timelapse I took of the Aug 2nd sunset with that tripod setup. What's the name of the kind of small high up clouds at the beginning? Because I think those are some of the best clouds for a timestack (at least in lighten mode). ETA: they are cumulo stratus clouds.

Все ждали взрыва Бетельгейзе, а взорвался... Кирилл (никогда не пользуйтесь вспышками на астровыезде!;-)
Яркое, динамичное, красивое зрелище!
Взлёт корабля сопровождала вспышка при отделении одной из ступеней ракеты-носителя (см.на фото по ссылке astronomy.ru/forum/MGalleryItem.php?id=13417).
"Медуза" (след от выбрасываемых двигателями ракеты-носителя газов, подсвеченных лучами солнца из-за горизонта) была огромной, отлично заметной на уже тёмном небе.
Некоторое время полёт корабля сопровождали три отброшенных элемента (ступеней) ракеты-носителя.
Появление корабля в Омском небе предвосхитил полёт Международной космической станции (МКС "Заря"). См. доп. фото по ссылке astronomy.ru/forum/MGalleryItem.php?id=13420
Всё действие происходило вокруг достаточно яркого Сатурна на пике его прохождения по небосклону. Но "медуза" в этот раз была способна затмить самую яркую звезду и, даже, кажется, Луну, если бы она посмела конкурировать с ней в одном кадре ;-)

С космодрома Байконур 25 сентября 2019 года в 19:57:42 (Omsk) стартовала ракета-носитель "Союз-ФГ" (такие ракеты-носители оставляют в небе в косых лучах солнца заметную "медузу").
Ракета-носитель с пилотируемым кораблём "Союз МС-15". Все этапы полёта прошли в штатном режиме. В 20:06:31 (Omsk) корабль отделился от третьей ступени носителя на целевой орбите.
Экипаж пилотируемого корабля: Олег Скрипочка (командир), Джессика Меир (бортинженер-1) и Хаззаа Аль Мансури (бортинженер-2). Позывной экипажа - "Сарматы".
Сближение корабля "Союз МС-15" с МКС и причаливание к стыковочному узлу планируется проводить в автоматическом режиме. Стыковка запланирована примерно через 6 часов после старта, 26.09.2019 01:45 (Omsk).
На борту корабля находятся 180 кг груза для МКС и её экипажей.
Это - последний пуск ракеты-носителя "Союз-ФГ" с "Гагаринского старта". Далее площадка N1 будет модернизирована для пусков ракет-носителей семейства "Союз-2".

A five shot panorama.
One of Denmark's northernmost lighthouses. Rubjerg Knude Fyr was built 200 meters from the 60 meter high cliffs over the North Sea and first lit in 1900.
But coastal erosion during 119 years had taken all but about 20 meters and the lighthouse was destined to fall down the cliff in a few years.
But thanks to a clever solution the lighthouse was put on wheels instead and this morning October 22, 2019 at 9AM, and for 6 hours the lighthouse was moved 65 meters back from the cliff, which gives them about 40 more years to figure out a permanent solution.
The lighthouse has not been operating since 1968, when the light was not visible for the ships any longer.

Last night I took a 3000 image timelap from the roof of the IceCube Lab building. This image is one of those. The actual timelap video will come later, once our broken faster Internet connection is fixed again.
This picture consists of 12 single exposures taken over the course of one hour and later combined in Photoshop.

Yet another image from a brilliant tour around Iceland in early January.
We wanted to shoot the famous pinnacles of Vík from a close distance. The best way of doing so is from the east hiking a few hundred meters on a sandy beach. Something has been going on, the beach was mostly gone and waves splashing against cliffs where to big of an obsticle to pass. We tried the tredorous hike from the west (along the cliffs seen here). After 200m in 30 minutes of frozen mud scrambling we gave up.
I never thought I would shoot Aurora with those pinnacles. The pinnacles are towards the south and Aurora is rarely in that direction here in Iceland. Finally the luck was with us, faint Aurora was in the southern part of the sky. It was much fainter that seen in the image. The high ISO, large apperture long exposure really enhances it so it becomes much clearer than seen with bare eye.
This interesting foreground also surprised us. Not from a photographic point of view but in the -12°C and 60km/h wind we could hear and see the pond freeze in front of us. At first I did not understand where this cracking sound was coming from but as after shooting a few frames I could see the ice expand about 20-30cm between them and realized the sound was coming from ice crystals forming and cracking.
I thought of doing a timelaps of this rapid freezing but in the freaking cold I decided standing there for 1-2 hours required would be to much suffering.

Rus.: Узоры туманности Ориона на ночном загородном небе (ноябрь, 2017)
Снимок сделан в паре десятков километров южнее Омска в стороне от Черлакского тракта и ближайших поселений с их огнями.
До 4 утра ждали пока небо оставит яркая и большая Луна и были вознаграждены великолепным видом ночного неба.
Рассмотреть узоры туманности Ориона помогла длинная выдержка и светосильный объектив, которым меня выручил Александр (Nitohap).
Ради длинной выдержки объектив с фотоаппаратом был установлен на монтировке, которая компенсировала движение Земли и позволяла непрерывно удерживать в кадре красивые объекты ночного неба и рассматривать/фотографировать их десятки минут (общее время экспозиции данного кадра не менее 15 минут - в EXIF записаны лишь данные т.н. опорного кадра).
И отдельно хочется отметить присутствующую на кадре красивую яркую звезду у туманности Ориона - Хатыса
When you watch the movie I posted earlier (one click back in my photostream) you may have noticed a light flash over the bridge about halfway through. At first I thought it was a meteorite, but the flash started at 4:39;31am and faded at 4:39; 47am, traveling from the bottom right to the top left... That is a span of three exposures and two gaps or 16 seconds. the light hat to last at least 10 seconds, most likely 12-14seconds.
Option #1- It was a meteorite. However, Wikipedia states that most meteorites "burn up in the atmosphere within 1 to 3 seconds. Larger fireballs or bolides can last for up to 7 seconds or slightly longer, creating a bright flash before dissipating or fragmenting.". That agrees with my previous night shots, with the meteorite the camera captured almost always appears in a single frame or at most in two, never in three.
Option #2: My astronomy Expert (Dr. Ann McMahon) added: It looks close enough to the horizon to be a sporadic, earth-grazing meteor. These meteoroids move slower because they're intersecting the earth's atmosphere almost tangentially and at a shallow angle instead of plowing into it head-on. Think of an earth-grazing meteor like a bug hitting your moving car along the side window, leaving a streak of bug guts on your side window as it disintegrates. Most meteors we see are meteoroids hitting your car's metaphoric windshield and burning up quickly.
Option #3: Across the bay from my camera is MacDill Air Force Base. Though it is home to KC-135 Stratotankers, other aircraft are also housed there. This could have been a military craft (perhaps an helicopter) taking off from MacDill and briefly turning on a searchlight for a few seconds, while otherwise flying dark.
Option #4: this is evidence of a UFO!
(I filled the gaps between the frames in photoshop, but the individual frames are available upon requests by conspiracy theorists).
CHDK Canon A700 capturing at 1 frame every 10 seconds. Mencoder generated an avi at 24 fps. Wind 10-15 kts from the SE. Camera aimed at 310 degrees. Location just west of I95 in central Palm Beach Country.
