Timbertown, Wauchope, NSW.
Visited here many times as a kid and had heard 5-10 years ago that it had fallen into disrepair. In the past year my dad & I both heard it had improved and was a worthwhile attraction again so we were keen to visit. Turned out to be very run down and looking sad.
Main part of the souvenir & food area - used to be so busy when I was a kid. Most of the stores no longer have souvenirs available. The lolly & ice cream shop was open but only sells your everyday brand name lollies & Peters ice cream these days.
Timbertown is an entire village, re-created to demonstrate the struggles and achievements of our pioneers. It is located in Wauchope, near Port Macquarie on the mid-north coast of NSW.

Old church area. Entry into the church was blocked off - my dad says visitors used to be able to go inside. Near the church was a new children's playground and some animals. Being from Queensland, we were rapt to see some bunnies in a nice big hutch. Hadn't seen a domestic rabbit for over ten years.
Although we'd been to visit Timber Town a few time before - here's a few new pics from our most recent visit in Sept 2022 , this pic shows "Ruby" out on the mainline arriving near their workshop part of the system ; I now have another You Tube video uploaded in Dec 2022 of it for anyone wishing to see their railway - the link is www.youtube.com/watch?v=WxfhVnO4DIc if you're interested in knowing.
Here's a pic from when we visited a place called "Timbertown" in Northern N.S.W. in July 2016 , this is a pic of a loco known as "Ruby" which is a Fowler 0-4-0 2Ft gauge loco which has been re-gauged slightly under the 2Ft gauge in recent years.
Timbertown, $5 for about a 20 minute ride around the park. Given a bit of a 'treatment' to add authenticity...sure some will not like this, but I quite like it!

Stephen looks a little more the part with his hat but I'm not sure the backpack and camera suit the cow-cocky look.
