Eagle River Falcons vs. West Bend something-or-others. Game was 0-6 going into the 3rd. Was 6-6 within the last half-minute. Lost in overtime. :(

The Eagle River hockey dome was the first indoor hockey rink built in MN:

Humpday for 30 Days of Creativity. One thing that's been great about being in a new city is that a simple stroll turns into an adventure.

The sun broke this afternoon. I went for a walk. Never headed toward the river yet and walking down Hennepin, lo and behold! The Grain Belt Beer sign I only know because of katbaro's own contributions to the 30Days project.

Taken with my iPhone and messed with TiltShiftGen. I pushed the saturation and contrast, preferring the grainy posterization (pun intended).

a bustling school intersection. Shot from my class room, which was on the 3rd floor of Langsdorf Hall.

about 15 years ago i took a photo in a backstreet of amsterdam. i had it all framed up, and then a guy walked in front of me just as i hit the shutter. it was film so i had no idea what it looked like, but i assumed it was spoiled by the guy in front of the lens, so i took another shot.

when i got home, the 1st shot was killer cause it had this guy moving in from the edge of the frame and the rest of the frame was sharp. i reprinted the same shot about 45 times in the darkroom at uni. the 2nd shot i took was boring.

now when i take pics of something and people are walking thru the shot, i only take one shot - when someone is "in the way".

thought this one worked well :) ... waiting for coffee in north sydney

Day 14 for 30 Days of Creativity

I try to begin almost every day with a short list - things to get little wins throughout the morning. Even the process of hand drawing the Short List masthead slows me down to contemplate. Most days see unchecked items carried to the next, but it's a good feeling to check something off and move on. Oh, and it helps to treat yourself to a good pen and a good sketchpad - nothing beats the feel.

Taken with my iPhone and enhanced with TiltShiftGen.
