Ok, not so scary, but definitely one of the stranger neko (cat) statues I've seen

Probably from the 50s, maybe. Who wouldn't want to drink beer with a kimono-clad girl who folds paper cranes?

I've been encountering lots of crows over the past year or so. They and hummingbirds make their presences known to me on nearly a daily basis. Honestly, I've never seen as many hummingbirds as tend to frequent my yard (often, when I'm watering, they'll be just about an arm's length away).
But back to the crows...there's a very large murder that is regularly in the trees around the high school a couple blocks away, which seems to break into smaller groups that hang out in various locales around the neighborhood. At least a few are near my home on most days. This morning as I was sitting on my deck sipping some herb tea, one glided above me and I could hear it landing on the antenna (which is completely functionless at this point, but apparently makes a good bird perch) on the roof. I had hoped it would stop by, as I frequently (but quietly) chat to these creatures as I see them. I stood up and asked permission to take its picture, and it obliged
Reading the meanings behind crow and hummingbird as totems, I'm pleased. Crow is about the unknowable, the mysterious...about medicine magic. But also, its about walking the walk, integrity and personal power. Hummingbird is a wonderful complement to crow, being about the appreciation of mirth and the truth of beauty.
Amen to that.
Today my wife suggested that I take a photo of something other than landscapes. So here we have it. This one is dedicated to you Maria Love You!
Photo taken with Camera+ on my iPhone 3gs and edited with PhotoFX, TiltShiftGen & Filterstorm apps.

"Is this Edo a beautiful city in the future?"
The scene of the drama"JIN-仁-" was laid in "Ochanomizu".
This photo was taken in "Kasai". But, this evening scene was the very existence of beautiful Edo.
ドラマ”仁”の舞台はお茶の水でしたが、この葛西で撮った光景は美しい江戸そのものでした。
・・・ちょっと凝りすぎたかな?

Just another iPhone camera experiment... Also, all processing (all 12 seconds of it) done in-iPhone, except for the square crop.
This travel camera illustration was found in "Nordisk Familjebok" (Nordic Family Encyclopedia), printed in 1908.
OK, I'm bored :-)

There was a wedding in this small secluded area near our hotel. While taking a few shots after everyone had departed, I spied the Boutonnière laying near the end of the railing. Discarded? Or not claimed? - I don't know. I used it to anchor my PoV for this image. I watched the wedding from my hotel room and it seemed to go along as planned.
Taken at the Halifax public gardens during my lunch hour walk with iPhone and Tilt-Shift application. A beautiful day to be out getting some fresh air and exercise.
Every morning, I have to wait for the World's Slowest Bus, which comes at such long intervals that I have time to compose a few shots using the equally slow Hipstamatic, process each shot with different apps and effects, then sit back and critique my work - and the bus is still stuck somewhere in Zululand.
