After- top day out btw- Forbidden Planet, British Museum, then great show n Highgate- Into the Wood revival with the incomparable Dom Brewer in the lead.

I've used tiltshift quite a few times on this trip. I have to admit that's not only because the landscape is so great for it, but also because most days were a bit gloomy and the tiltshift effect can brighten things up.

Messing around with tiltshift effects.

Zondag, 29 mei 2011. TiltShift is een foto techniek die de laatste tijd vaker in de belangstelling staat in de diverse fotobladen. In het verleden heb ik er ook wel eens mee geëxperimenteerd.

Ik maakte dan gebruik van TiltShiftmaker een applicatie die op het internet te vinden is. Bij TiltShiftMaker laad je een foto op via het internet en na het maken van de Tiltshift foto download je hem weer naar je systeem.

Bij stom toeval liep ik via de Mac Apps Store van Apple aan tegen de applicatie TiltShift Lite die ik op mijn Mac kan gebruiken. De TiltShift applicatie heb in twee smaken, nl. de Light en Full versie.

Om te experimenteren met deze applicatie heb ik de TiltShift Lite applicatie gekocht. In deze blog zie je eerste resultaten van TiltShift foto’s die afkomstig zijn uit ‘ oudere’ fotoreportages in mijn fotoblog.

Tilt-shift photography" refers to the use of camera movements on small- and medium-format cameras, and sometimes specifically refers to the use of tilt for selective focus, often for simulating a miniature scene. Sometimes the term is used when the shallow depth of field is simulated with digital postprocessing; the name may derive from the tilt-shift lens normally required when the effect is produced optically.

"Tilt-shift" actually encompasses two different types of movements: rotation of the lens plane relative to the image plane, called tilt, and movement of the lens parallel to the image plane, called shift. Tilt is used to control the orientation of the plane of focus (PoF), and hence the part of an image that appears sharp; it makes use of the Scheimpflug principle. Shift is used to change the line of sight while avoiding the convergence of parallel lines, as when photographing tall buildings.
