Tiltshift offers a very different perspective on a photograph which has been taken from a distance. It almost gives the perspective of being a model.
Seen here on Princes Street, taken from Edinburgh Castle is one of Lothian Buses' new city Sightseeing open-top Wright Eclipse Geminis with a Parks of Hamilton Plaxton Panther heading in the opposite direction.
Another overhead shot from in the plane the other day.. attempted a tiltshift tutorial ..not sure I pulled it off.. but learning is good :-)
I got to spend the last week tinkering around for the first time with a couple of tilt shift lenses. It was really a good time trying to figure these things out and trying to get some interesting pictures using the blur that weren't just as simple as the "model" look. I got to spend a brief part of the week in LA also, and this was one of the shots I got of the Huntington Beach Pier before sunset.
Might upload a few more also, if people are interested in this sort of thing. I did a little theme based on the bottom outtake - I spent an early morning on Seattle downtown streets shooting storefronts after a nice rain (surprise) and might make a little video of the project. We'll see . . .
Trying something a little different...this is an HDR photo of Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, TN where the University of Tennessee Volunteers play. I took 3 shots last September, combined to create the HDR image, and decided to try TiltShift. I think it looks pretty cool...what do you think??
