This weekend was the local Tigard Oregon Balloon Festival in Cook Park. The weekend long event hosts a carnival, live music, a morning balloon lift off and a night light up event. This park is down the street form the new house here in the Portland area, in fact, they flew right over the new house Saturday morning.
The event was like a camera show and it was often tough to get a shot with all the other photographers there trying to get the same shot. The event was unique in that they let the public anywhere and everywhere. I have been to these where they have the balloons sectioned off and the public can watch, but cant get close. That actually made shooting them easy because there was a clear demarcating line. Here, its people everywhere! So getting a shot without a stranger on the frame is tough. I tried to use that to my advantage with the folks sitting in front of the closest balloon. Framed the image well I thought. More from this event to come...

I like how this scene is reminiscent of a coastal town. Maybe the dry driftwood look of the telegraph pole. Happy Telegraph Tuesday.

Thank goodness for Brent the engineer who picked me up and drove me home every day last week - it was icy every day!

The Tigard Balloon Festival came to me this year! (around 6:40 a.m. PDT). In defense of my camera, it really was a solid grey-white sky. The festival publishes a list of participants so:
Left: Cheryl Isaacs “La Brisa Del Mar”
Right: Katie Briggs “Sushi the Flying Goldfish”
It was the day i went out to Tigard to fill out paperwork to get my free sick leave because of COVID-19. Might have been my last day on the job site. The world seemed dirty and haggard.

Picked up a couple of repairs at Advance Camera in Portland today and came home part way on 99W instead of I-5. Looking for random roadside things of interest.
