Macro Mondays: Timepieces
This piece of digital art is called “Tick Tock” and was created for the Artists Down Under magazine August theme which was “Tick Tock Clocks”.
My vision for the piece was a bit of an apocalyptic scene representing us running out of time on our abused planet. I decided I needed a model for my piece, wearing black and with head in hands representing despair. My beautiful friend Charlotte was kind enough to “be my model”, and she did an awesome job of following my instructions and provided me exactly what I wanted.
I love this piece so much for two reasons. Firstly because it is a collaboration with my lovely friend, and secondly because it is that rarest of pieces for me that actually ends up being pretty much exactly like my original vision for the piece, usually I start with an idea and finish with something completely different.

Macro Mondays - Time
I had quite a few shots while coming up with the one I liked.
Time is such the bewildering thing. I love movies that play on the time theme.

With a lockdown in place it is against the rules for me to go to places I like to shoot, so I though I would try to create a series called Isolated creativity. The series is not intended to be a diary but a way of documenting thoughts and emotions via photography.
Time can play tricks on us all, particularly when we are anxious, excited, bored or lonely and the massive change in the daily routines of many of us has only made this worst.
So whilst we fill our days with activities it is important that we remember those on their own and contact them, so at least some of their minutes tick by quicker.

Clock birds
This is because of their long tails with disk or racket tip at the end and they have a habit of moving it side to side like the pendulums of the old grandfather clocks.
Have you seen them tick tock their tails?
I remember as a child my parents shouting with joy as I blew these dandelion clocks all over the garden, well maybe just shouting...

Quitschie gave birth to at least 3 cubs about 10 weeks ago, but she already looks really fluffy again 😉 I called them Tick, Trick, and Track. In case there is a 4th one I will call it TickTock 😂
