Œuvre (2014 ?) de la graffeuse (et griffeuse !) parisienne Radhia Novat, alias Miss Tic (1956-2022) récemment disparue, et qui s'auto-revendiquait plasticienne et poète... (et pas poétesse, mot affreux et inutile, parfois imposé par une féminisation grammaticale forcée et hystérique)
What started as a tablescrap build for a grid ended up like this! Looks fairly simple but tricky...
Actually tried this method a few years ago on Domino Squad Final Run but got into trouble with the multiple levels and had to scrap it.

I made it to play with my daughter, because figuring out how to do those X's was oh-so-much easier than grabbing a pencil and sheet of paper.
Seriously, though, it took a long time to get the X's, and they're still not perfect. Good enough for a 4-year old, though. They needed to be at a 45 degree angle and then line up enough with the square so that any jagged edges could be covered with a tile, but the tile still had to have enough solid brick studs to attach on firmly.
Oh, and every single piece is attached! Nothing is free floating at all (well, not counting the fact that the squares are removable for playing the game). Those guys over at twee affect would be so proud. ;-)
P.S. The whole time I was trying to figure out the X's, I kept thinking there was probably a very obvious way to do it, and I was just too blind to see it...

Você pode usar aquela linha de nylon, se quiser que apareça pouco a costura.
three in a row...i was messing around with the bouquet of flowers i purchased for easter. there was this gorgeous orange gerber daisy amongst the mix. i sprayed the grass with a spray bottle filled with water and set the daisy by the blades. i was able to recreate this....three upside-down daisies refracted within the water droplets... cropped to enlargen droplets and added a fake flare in photoshop - since i forgot about trying to make the sun create the flare....
