HMM!
It snowed most of the day here and stayed extremely cold. It is 5 degrees as I write! I got up early and made pumpkin muffins for breakfast. It sounded cozy but also comforting as the oven warms up our small condo pretty fast.I left the patio blinds open all day so we could watch the soft snow falling. There is a softness in falling snow that belies the harsh nature of Winter. It creates the notion that snow is magical and delicate.yet when the snowflakes disappear, the stark reality of Winter sets in. It is then up to us to create our own magic in the middle of Winter. Especially after the holidays are wrapped up (no pun intended ha) and the rest of Winter looms ahead. I joked about Netflix in my November image to do list. This serves well for a time but I find too much TV contributes to my tendency to be depressed during the cold months. Out then comes the comforts I knew as a child that my dear Mom incorporated. I am, BTW, one of nine children, all homeschooled!:) On especially cold days my Mom would call it as Reading or Writing Day. We'd bring our blankets and favorite books out into the living room floor and read most the day away. Mom would serve up hot cocoa and while we read we would savor the aroma of her daily batch of fresh bread. Today I remembered all of these things and felt a deep sense of appreciation for my Mom. :)
On an ending note, I apologize for being absent with my comments. I have fallen behind although I have tried to keep up with faves on the amazing images I see in my newsfeed. I will try to be better this week. :) Much love and friendship to you all

My real weights are actually a horrid chalky lilac colour – but I see no reason why they shouldn’t be in way better colors than that; they’re also very symmetric – which rarely appeals to me – but I backgrounded my less symmetric versions because it all felt a bit irregular...

I think I finally got the scale right for a throw blanket, which was one of my aims with this design. Another colorway - just published - is 'Happy faces + balloons on gray + white squares on coral by Su_G' , which was nearly my entry in Spoonflower's Gender Neutral Nursery Wallpaper Design Challenge.

My Kingdom Hearts II "Comfy Throw" (off-brand Snuggie) which I purchased at Hot Topic. It is very comfortable, used either as a regular blanket or wearing.

Burnt Orange, Rust, throw blanket, hand crocheted with a soft warm homespun boucle yarn. Great accent for a neutral or black and white interior design. Soft rich off black. . The fringe was created with the same yarn as in the body of the blanket. Each end of the fringe has a tiny knot to prevent fraying.

I made a blanket just like this one for my much loved nephew, despite the odds and adversity, graduated high school. Each blanket you see here was designed and created for someone special and they have all been so well received that I decided that I wanted to introduce these blankets to my shop! I would love to make one for someone special to you too!
This yarn calls for machine wash and dry but I recommend hand wash, then gently roll in a towel and either lay flat or hang to dry. Comb fringe out with fingers.
Measures about 34 x 62 inches, not including the fringe. 82 inches long with the fringe.
