There's morning light shining through the roofs of the small city, illuminating the trees quite nicely.

Cresting the grade out of Rockwood is the Westbound empty Franklin Minerals job just finished with a NS interchange.

I was going to trawl through my archives for a more typical idyllic shot for this category. The Europoort wouldn't be thought of by many as a heavenly place ... but a misty sunset shows you can find peace and tranquility anywhere.

The USLA National Lifeguard Championships were held on Thursday, August 10 through Saturday, August 12, 2023, near the Virginia Beach Surf and Rescue Museum in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

The event draws professional, gold junior, and alum lifeguard members of the United States Lifesaving Association from across the USA to compete in rescue races, board races, board relays, beach flags competitions, various swim and run events, Ironman/Ironwoman and Ironguard events, and team competitions.

My wife would kill me!

Abandoned...and rotting away.

Captivating entrance to a piece that was on show at The University of Queensland Art Museum. Elizabeth Willing's 'Through The Mother' is "a multisensory exhibition that embraces how touch, taste and smell inform our most poignant and powerful memories."

Golden artwork showing off the pyramid

while we had a small forest to play with I came up with this little idea....

Jools left for work, and I had some toast and another coffee, then got ready for work.

Work was the same, a two hour department meeting in which we discuss progress, and there was actual progress.

Which is nice.

I had two hours before my afternoon of more meetings, so wth a migraine building, I went for a walk.

I was intending to mainly look for wild flowers, but the walk would certainly do me good. I felt boots were no longer needed as the ground was getting firmer every day, grabbed a camera or two and walked out of the door.

I walked in shadow along our street and the track at the end of it, but into sunshine as I turned up to Collingwood before turning down the small dip towards Windy Ridge, then taking the first long track on the right, which would lead me level with the track the other side of the wood on Windy Ridge.

Plenty of flowers to be enjoyed: some nice double snowdrops, Common Field-speedwells and lots of Annual Mercury. As well as daisies, dandelions and the usual early spring suspects. The Winter heliotropes are now nearing their end, with petal edges turning brown as the warmth takes its toll.

The tracks were muddy in places, but I was able to get by, horses looked at me passing, mournfully hoping I would have a sugarlump or some other treat.

The climb past the farm made my back complain some, but we can't give into it, can we? Or we'd end up just like my Mother.

Precious.

VINTAGE TREASURES

I get to see the coolest stuff in some of our listings - funny to think that sometimes I like when other agents are late because it gives me an opportunity to interpret homes with a completely different light. this is an antique radio in a house on Alton Road in Miami Beach - it represents the perfect mix between modern comfort and vintage which is exactly what the house offers. Talk about a nice twist on real estate.

Construction worker: "Damnit, when the hell is this train gonna get here! Wait, I think I can hear it...."

" 'Cuse Me! Coming through!"

"Holy.....what the hell? THE Iron Man, in a subway tunnel!?"

"Jarvis! How far until we track down the quinjet!?"

" Continue along the subway tunnel sir, take a right at the next junction, then follow that track until you reach a subway stop, the thief is there."

"Got it, time to catch this bitch!"

The foreground is quite dark, but there is a driveway leading to the arc in the clouds.

When trains are delayed it is always interesting to see how people manage to cope with the delay and what they do while waiting for period far longer than they had expected. This is just one great example of someone trying to remain productive whilst they wait.

This was one of my favourite photos taken from my first ever street photograph shoot back in 2018. I had actually gone up to Exeter to work in the City Centre but had failed to build up the courage to photograph people on this project however these delayed services provided me with a great second chance and I absolutely loved it once I got into it!
