View of the Great White Throne from the Big Bend area of Zion Canyon National Park. Composed of Navajo Sandstone, the monolith rises 2,350 feet from the valley floor of Zion.
The Throne was first climbed by Fred Beckey, Galen Rowell, and Pat Callis in 1967.
There was a flower once upon a spring sitting magnificently on its throne.
The empty throne is eagerly waiting for the flower to come back.
The Alien Throne in the center presides over his courtiers discussing important matters on our right but the mouth on our left is sticking out its tongue.

When trying to capture this waterfalls, it looked as if a monarch were sitting on a throne. I ended up playing with it for over an hour, hence the title, and eventually decided to include the foliage at the bottom. The purpose was to draw attention there first, giving the viewer a place to start.
One could then work their way up the wall, against the flow, experiencing the powerful flow of the water. I felt working one's way up might add this dynamic to the shot. Placing a colorful element toward the bottom would accomplish this, while the rest of the image remained, more duo-tone.

By 3am the rain had stopped and the sky was mainly clear. I had my tripod set up for the composition I wanted, and made an exposure for the foreground just after sunset. The Milky Way was photographed using a separate exposure, shot between 3 and 4am.
The Royal Palace (Khmer: ព្រះបរមរាជាវាំងនៃព្រះរាជាណាចក្រកម្ពុជា, Preah Barum Reachea Veang Nei Preah Reacheanachak Kampuchea), in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, is a complex of buildings which serves as the royal residence of the king of Cambodia. Its full name in the Khmer language is Preah Barum Reachea Veang Chaktomuk Serei Mongkol (Khmer: ព្រះបរមរាជវាំងចតុមុខសិរីមង្គល).
The Kings of Cambodia have occupied it since it was built in 1860s, with a period of absence when the country came into turmoil during and after the reign of the Khmer Rouge.
The palace was constructed after King Norodom relocated the royal capital from Oudong to Phnom Penh in the mid-19th century. It was built atop an old citadel called Banteay Kev. It faces towards the East and is situated at the Western bank of the cross division of the Tonle Sap River and the Mekong River called Chaktomuk (an allusion to Brahma).

Man cave opens today on the 17th of September! Some of you might have already took over the event by storm but for those who didn't - it's certainly worth a visit. Dura made new unisex hair for us, inspired by the famous actor River Phoenix. Next to a huge palette of color choices, the hair comes with three different styling options.

I love this hair not only because it's a gender-neutral, cozy looking hair with an amazing level of detail and fine strands but also... doesn't it remind you of someone else too? Is it just me? Black hair, pale face, grumpy mood, face expression like he's constantly smelling sweaty socks or dead rats (maybe both), house teacher of Slytherin - no? Please someone safe me and make a Severus Snape cosplay for halloween with this (≧▽≦)

The Alien Throne Is a very unique rock formation. I think only the King of Wings is more unique in Bisti.
The Throne is lot easier to get to than the wing. The wing is isolated and it's a tough hike.
We went on a tour of locations for some of the scenes in Game of Thrones. In Tollymore Forest Park, this is the location of the scene in Game of Thrones where the Stark children get their dire wolf pups.
Okay, can you see where my title came from? This is a completely natural formation, but it does have the look of an ancient throne. Two other things to note before I link you to more invaluable information:
(1) There's that "coffee stained" layer right there on the seat of the throne. As it weathers it is flaking off. I await some expert advise on what this is.
(2) Please enlarge the shot and spot the gorgeous blue shell of a shellfish or crab lodged at the edge of the "cushion" on the throne. I have no idea what it is and I didn't want to disturb it. But any marine biologists out there, please tell us if you can identify it. Then you'll also see a whole lot of smaller blue and white shelled creatures at the base of the throne.

In the geology of Tasmania, Devonian (416-360 million years ago) granite is prevalent in the Bass Strait Islands that were originally linked from this point of Tasmania and right across to the Australian mainland. Here at Little Musselroe Bay we have forms of dolerite dating from the Jurassic period (200-145 million years ago). Both granite and dolerite are Igneous rocks produced through volcanic activity.
Now if you think some of that is surprising, wait until you see what I have to say in the next photo description: Tasmania is geologically more related to North America than the mainland of Australia!
The intricately eroded features of the volcanic tuff that comprises the Wheeler Geologic Area shine brightly in the morning sun, La Garita Wilderness, Colorado.
The mind conjures all manner of metaphors and similes when trying to comprehend what nature has wrought in this incredible remnant of the La Garita Caldera. The first Europeans to wander through seem to have exhausted their vocabulary of superlatives with comparisons to minarets, pinnacles, towers, and the like. For example, I think I can see a nest of dragon’s eggs…
Wotan's Throne, Grand Canyon, Arizona
The setting sun lights up the red rock of Wotan's Throne, a massive butte named after Wotan, aka Odin, a Norse god and the source of the English weekday name Wednesday. The geologists who named the formations within the Grand Canyon drew from world religions, modern and archaic. Hence Wotan's Throne, the Temple of Vishnu, the Temple of Zoroaster, Freya's Castle, and so on.

This is a male Anna's hummingbird perched on his thorny mesquite throne. I just love the iridescence of these guys.
Today was our last full day in Korea so we decided to go back to the Changdeokgung Palace which was not open on the day we tried to visit in our first week here. Very glad we went back, it was very impressive with stunning gardens and when we were there not very busy. This is the main throne room, pretty impressive ceiling for sure.
On a resent trip to North Devon I made a morning vist to Ilfracombe at low tide.The rocks with the Chaple in the background made an interesting subject.
