My very first attempt at HDR..
Not sure how it looks like, appreciate any opinions & tips!! :)
Do view large, friends!! :)

A male Eastern Meadowlark’s (Sturnella magna) flutelike melody ringing out across the grassland. Remarkably similar to the Western Meadowlark in colours and pattern, this bird is recognized by its very different song and callnotes. Copyright © Kim Toews/All Rights Reserved.
Near threatened species. Many species of Thraupis tanagers are widely-distributed, but the Azure-shouldered Tanager occurs only in the Atlantic forest region of southeastern Brazil, from Espírito Santo south to Rio Grande do Sul. Its distribution overlaps that of the Sayaca Tanager (Thraupis sayaca), but the Azure-shouldered Tanager is larger with a heavier bill, has deep blue wing coverts, and a buffy belly. The Azure-shouldered Tanager forages in humid forest, at forest edge, and in adjacent second growth, but in general it is more closely associated with forest than is the Sayaca Tanager. The diet of the Azure-shouldered Tanager includes both fruit and arthropods. Birds of the World.
Wishing everyone a very happy new week and a happy Blue Monday!

Peruvian Pelican has a Conservation Status under the IUCN of Near Threatened www.iucnredlist.org/species/22697619/132596827
A Peruvian Pelican shows its beautiful colours as it flies just above the water near Pucusana south of Lima, Peru, South America. The wingspan of this species is over two metres.
Fischer's Lovebird (Agapornis fischeri), a small parrot species from the grasslands of Tanzania. See in Africa Rocks Aviary, San Diego Zoo. Conservation status: Near Threatened
About as close as I could want to be to this amazing Red Kite, I heard it calling from a distance over the pine trees and knew it was heading my direction, never could have predicted it would get this close and I would have difficulty getting it all in frame, it seemed to hover or a second as it assessed me with this stare, or maybe it just wanted to know what lens I had : )
To threaten an intruder, males and females may raise and shiver the wings or spread the tail. Raising the wings makes the yellow feathers at the carpal joint (the “wrist”) especially prominent. Another threat display involves picking up a piece of grass or wrack and pointing it at the intruder.
The beautiful Sand Cat, also known as the Sand Dune Cat, lives in the deserts of North Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia. But try finding one in the wild; the colour of its fur makes the perfect camouflage! This small cat is solitary except during the mating season and when a female has kittens. Sand Cats are threatened by habitat loss, hunting and collection for the pet trade. This male is captive bred and I was given special permission to join it in its pen at Exmoor Zoo.
Near threatened species. The Azure Jay is found primarily in forests of southeastern Brazil. It is distinguished by its blue body and black head and neck. The Azure Jay is omnivorous, but tends to eat the fruit and seeds of Araucaria trees. It's conservation status is rated as Near Threatened due to habitat loss and deforestation. Not much is known about the Azure Jay and therefore more data is needed on many aspects of its biology. birdsoftheworld.org/bow/species/azujay1

Very large, long-tailed game bird of tropical and subtropical forest. Often seen high in trees or flying through the forest canopy; usually not seen in areas near people except in some protected areas due to hunting pressure. Typically in pairs or small groups and wary. Plumage dark overall (often looks blackish) with bright red throat wattle; white streaking on body visible at closer range. Crest is bushy and usually not a striking feature. (eBird)

This pair of guan were walking the grounds of the lodge in search of wild avocados. Probably the best views that we have had of these birds, with their crests and wattles clearly displayed. The guan at this lodge are well accustomed to people and so I was able to get a full-frame shot of them.

This wasp landed on a Queen Anne's Lace where I'd been shooting bees. I took shots of it, but kept a closer eye on its progress than I had with the bees!
This week I saw my first Bobolink in real time. When I checked out the information on it, I discovered that they were designated a threatened species in 2010. It means they can become endangered if their habitat is not protected. This is the male with its summer breeding plumage. By late summer, they will lose most of these colors and look more like the tan coloured female with black stripes. Interesting!
A Grey-headed Flying Fox (Pteropus poliocephalus) photographed yesterday at Yarra Bend Park in Kew. It was a drizzly, dull day, not ideal for photography, but I really enjoyed seeing these fascinating creatures, definitely want to return. Thanks Ali for taking me to see them.
The Grey-headed Flying Fox’s conservation status is listed as vulnerable. The population at Yarra Bend varies from about 6,000 to up to 30,000 in summer, this group were relocated to Yarra Bend Park in 2003 from the Melbourne Botanic Gardens where they were doing significant damage and threatening many parts of the gardens.
Das Bienensterben geht weiter. Denke nun bitte niemand, es habe etwas mit dem Menschen und seinen wohldurchdachten Aktivitäten zu tun. Ich war froh, als ich diese summende Sammlerin fand.
If we don't counteract, the last bees will soon disappear.
The piping plover is a threatened and endangered species. This piping plover pair had at least 5 adorable chicks.
