No matter what it is, I always manage to get in over my head.
As soon as I heard about Threadless.com's "ThreadLe Manss" competition (a pinewood derby that will take place in mid-May 2008) I decided to participate. I never did the pinewood derby thing when I was a kid so this was my first.
I hope I got everything just the way they asked for it. My precise food scale is still packed in a box so I used a cheesy analog scale to weigh the car. If I'm not over the 6 ounce limit I'm sure I'm pushing up against it. Hell, I'll be happy if the lead weights don't fall out of the bottom of the car before it hits the finish line.
Go ahead, laugh. I was in a rush to finish it so it's far from what I expected, but it'll do.
(In case anyone's interested, the kit that I used can be seen here. The wheels had to be purchased separately. No kidding, this friggin' thing put me out between $30-$40. And I don't even get it back after Threadless.com gets it. I better win SOMETHING.)
UPDATE: It seems that they got my car.
i forgot that if you submit a photo of yourself wearing a threadless shirt, they give you $1.50 credit.. so that was today's project.

I have the authentic blue one, and a co-worker has the ... uh, guy-colored one. I probably should've invested in a couple of these fakes just for the sake of posterity.
