cross-stitch threads that have been sitting around in my desk drawer for about 20 years now ....a stitch in time. Day 17 - WEEW girls project

A kufi I came up with. Fun and fast to make. Used #3 cotton thread.

This basket of thread once sat in my mom's sewing room, but she deicided that she could no longer keep it. Before it got tossed in a dumpster, I had to take a photo of it.

I took the Kreinik No-Knit Fashion Kit and made a rectangular piece of fabric (sandwich Kreinik metallic bits between layers of water-soluble stabilizer), then attached it to a Goodwill dress for a re-fashioning (up-fashioning?) design.

Magnifing lens

Potholders are a popular thread crochet craft. This potholder was made with sections from a bedspread pattern (the back is solid). The two sections are attached with an edging of double crochet and picots.

My palette :-)

I made a felt doodle. It has a bit of purple batting, a few layers of merino & then I had leftover yarns & threads. I want to felt a small piece each day this week, we shall see if I reach that goal.

This piece is approximately 5 x 6. I will either embellish it & make an art card or I will cut it up & use the pieces in another project.

I paid close attention to the exposure in this. I wanted to make the thread visible and not overexpose any thing at the same time.

My new thread holder, color coded of course, neutrals then brights. This is only half of my thread (the 100% cotton quilting), the rest is on the other side of the organizer. The best part is the little box snaps closed and has a handle so I can take it with me if I'm traveling somewhere to quilt and can't decide which color I want to use.
