William B. Tubby, 1894-96. Once a wool exchange, home to the American Thread Company, and an exhibition space where Keith Haring painted a (recently rediscovered) mural...all this history pales next to the incandescent fact that Naomi Campbell once lived here.
I say a little bit more about the American Thread Building on my New York City landmarks blog, The Masterpiece Next Door. It's a little light on Naomi Campbell, though.

This stuff is the best. I don't crochet with it very much, but it is wonderful to use as colorful string. And it's cheap!
I brightened this a fair amount, which helped give the thread a nice sheen...
Lovely new silk fabric, embroidery ribbon and threads as well as a bit of pretty rayon varigated thread for my stash!

We designed this imminently usefull website for Sunset Radiology, focusing solely on using large text based menus and sparse imagery to create a easy to use and beautifull webservice / site for this California based company
We added time dependant graphics (visiting the site at a late time of day would change the colorscheme to a more sunset like settings) and used actual medical imagery from scans performed during the previous day as backdrops for the site.
after decades of very sporadic use, the 20 metres of darning thread reached the end of the line, revealing a very touching Heinzelmaennchen (alluding to the company name Heinze) on the cardboard support. Good excuse to produce a thread of thread photos.

Some 35mm threaded through the gate. It's pin-registered. There's a motor just in front of the lens that rotates a cam that pushes the pins and pressure plate onto the film. You can see the top of light source assembly behind the gate.

Luc Vanlancker makes a few adjustments to a machine which was used to test the strength and quality of thread for weaving.
The bumpy bit with thread wrappings 9on the right) was done way back in the first class .. The appliqué (stuffed a tiny bit) was done with a piece of cross stitched practice cotton.
French knots, ..you can also see some button hole lace stitch, stab stitching and chain stitch over to the right above the store bought rose trim....

This is my absolute favorite thread from connecting Threads...they raised the price a bit, but it's worth it for how long one of these lasts.
I've not managed to buy a bargain 980 rear mech yet that wasn't without its problems. This one has stripped threads in the front cage plate. That would seem to be a particular flaw of the 980 mechs. The later Nuovo and Super Record mechs also had threads cut directly into the aluminum which to my mind was an unfortunate cost cutting exercise.
The thread size for the pivot bolt is M7x1 which allows me to repair the mech by way of copying the original Nuovo record design.
