I love the Flathead Lake around this time of year, snowstorms, low pool levels, and periods of sunshine make for pleasant walks and a number of photo opportunities.

(2019) Tree of Thoughts
This is an abstract art doodle with a brain as the subject.
Each circular unit represents a collected information. The internal triangles and their colors symbolize certain opinions and certain perspectives.
The larger circle at the top represents the independent thoughts after judging the facts.
In our time, I've found that the mass media got so much easier to heavily sway public opinion. For the sake of better commercial ratings, for the sake of serving as mouthpiece of their sponsors and power to be; more and more dis-information is flooding the news.
In this regard, we must stay vigilant to seek out truth.
We must collect as much data to filter out what's facts.
We must be open minded to examine and reexamine perspectives.
We must never just settled and echo what's popular,
because it is essential to keep our independent thoughts.

**tomorrow, ash wednesday... lent begins... many filipinos will troop to churches to hear mass... i'm not sure if i remember the words right.. but the priests (and/or lay ministers) would say these words as they put the cross marks on each forehead: "magsisi ka at talikdan ang iyong mga kasalanan... " (repent and turn away from your sins...)
every year, i know... we do the same rituals -- confessing our sins, sacrifices like fasting and abstinence and corporeal works of mercy... somehow, sometimes these works seem more traditional than devotional and sacramental... maybe... but, i believe, there is still faith in them...
and going on a soul trip recently, it brought me to realize some things... no matter how small your faith is... God will make use of that... for you to do things (even in the smallest proportions) for His glory...
being human we need constant reminders... we forget too easily... also, we are in constant need of repair... we will one day be whole if we let the Creator work on us... like trees that shed leaves in autumn... we look forward to spring... after all... that is the basis of our faith... EASTER! for we are easter people!

What I like about airports, apart from people watching, is the sense that we're on the same page. Everyone at the airport is about to go somewhere -- for some it's a new place, for others a familiar place. But, we're all going somewhere. It can be lonely, but this thought always comforts me.
