i'm not ok with myself..i can't understand, why after giving and sharing, some people just keep on letting you down.... =/

August 2007.

He wished to be somewhere else.

**I posted the below entry on one of my blogs back in June, but as I was eating tonight, I was reminded of it**

A few nights ago, I was sitting here, eating at my desk. The environment was a bit more quiet than usual. There was no television on, no music playing, and I wasn't even paying attention to the computer. It was just silent..a man and his meal. It reminded me of times when I would see my mother, father, or uncle eating at the kitchen table. I'd always watch from a distance, and it would always seem as if while they were eating..that was all that mattered. All prior worries were put on hold, and there were no concerns about what the future would bring. It's something so simple, but yet so amazing. To me, anyways...I'm weird like that sometimes.

Anywho, this moment reminded me of just how much I can pick up just from watching others interact with their surroundings. Not to sound like too much of a bigot or anything, but the effect is usually the greatest when I watch older Black people. I remember one time being back home, at a grocery store. I just watched how everyone went about doing things in the store. Some people hobbled around, with grimaces of pain accompanying every step that they took. Others seemed to be determined to get the best value for their money as they appeared to compare products to each other. Some people were dressed in what society would deem as "old" or "cheap" clothing, while others were dressed a bit fancier. It showed me that some people were less concerned with image or perception and more concerned with protecting their bodies from the elements.

I don't really know where I'm going with this. Perhaps just to say that watching others gives me a deeper appreciation for the more primitive things that we give little or no thought to at all on a daily basis. At least that's what I get from it..but we all know I'm a bit off center.

Wait... I thought Sapphires are blue?!?!

Well, you are half right... Sapphires usually are blue, but they actually come in every color. Normally those deep blue sapphires are always heated to attain that desirable blue color. And there is nothing wrong with that, but if you are looking for a 100% natural stone, then My Montana sapphires might be just right for you. I have the story written below.

This is my second ever filigree ring... sort of teaching myself since that's how I do things. Solid sterling silver and my new favorite "Shadowbox" Bezel setting, a silky smooth domed setting that is probably the single best way to secure a stone that I know.

There is a fun little copper "Rocker" knob on the back (It is not quite centered).

The sapphire is a 3.92mm Round Full Brilliant Cut The color is similar to olive, and has a good vibrant look and is eye clean and , hold on...let me check... Yup, it is loupe clean too (At 10x power)!

The ring is a size 8.25

One of a kind!

The STORY behind these stones:

Usually it is hard to know the history behind gemstones. But in this case I know the exact person that dug them out of the ground, and I trust them. It was my Grandma and Grandpa. They were avid rock collectors and one of their trips included a trip to Montana, probably 30 years ago, where they were able to collect a small handful of the loose rough sapphire pebbles.

While helping them to clean out their garage a few months ago, I happened upon a small pill jar that had a small collection of transparent pebbles and when I asked my grandma about them, she confirmed that they were rough Montana sapphire that she and my grandpa had dug up many years ago. She gave them to me to use as I wanted and so I had them all faceted into small round gemstones. Thus they have no treatments of any kind and have only changed hands once before hitting the market. In the world of gemstones, it does not get much more fair trade than that.

they were probably somewhere along the lines of "my mummy's such a cow,my mummy is so mean, life's not fair, why can't I have a third popsicle!!!!!"

This is Dexter, a boy of Siamese extraction adopted from the RSPCA in 2008. His blue eyes are striking and a pretty good indicator of what he's thinking. Right here, he's heard the rattle of cat biscuits.

With the low winter sun streaming through the office window providing much appreciated warmth, thoughts turn to summer.

A number of factors are against summer foreign summer holiday - mainly money and complication of COVID.

More than 500 students, faculty and staff members attended the information sessions and an estimated 2,000-plus people enjoyed the Launch Party in the SSC Living Room to celebrate the launch of the College's new brand - Welcome to the New School of Thought.

But positive thoughts! Like thinking how life is so beautiful and worth of living... in spite of...

Open your eyes, look within. Are you satisfied with the life you're living?

Life is one big road with lots of signs. So when you riding through the ruts, don't complicate your mind. Flee from hate, mischief and jealousy. Don't bury your thoughts, put your vision to reality. Wake Up and Live!

I love this hair because of its evident originality, I'd never seen something like this before in SL.. it's perfect to create "futuristic" styles like this one. And believe me the quality of textures and distribution of pieces is amazing :) Great work here!

Arrived in Jakarta and already stuck in traffic. Not to fret, time to practice some shots. Here another one for the "Through the Window" project. A mini bus (lots of those around here) with two passengers on the backseat lost in thought, shot from the taxi through the windshield. Pardon the lack of sharpness. The windows were rather dirty...

Will be travelling for the next 3 weeks with little time for the interwebz...

Is anyone tired of politics already? It is only January for goodness sake! I'm not normally so cynical but I have no local news here & the polical verbage is over the top! I am from a family of very politically active people & I am feeling worn down. That is all the News we have here...I just want to see a story about anything but politics right about now! (well, no stories about mispent youth in Hollywood, please!!!) I love Carl Sandberg, he penned it perfectly for me!

A politician should have three hats. One for throwing into the ring, one for talking through, and one for pulling rabbits out of if elected.

I thought I'd look through my archives of unedited self-portraits to find something from ten years ago that I may like to edit and share to celebrate my birthday.

In doing so, I found quite a number from a shoot I did in my bedroom in June 2014 that caught my eye after all this time.

I had previously edited a handful of photographs from the shoot, but ten years later, I'm drawn to other images.

As I don't share NSFW content at my lowest tier and can't share NSFW images on most social platforms, I decided to edit a photograph I could share publicly and one I could share early access to my patrons at 'the perfect 10' tier and above.

It's been a while since I added work to my interior/exterior series (coming up to three years), but I feel the image I shared on my Patreon in the wee hours of the morning, i fall in love too easily, fits into that series.

Maybe this one does, too.

I edited another NSFW image from this shoot that I'll share with my patrons at 'the perfect 10' tier and above in future.

I also shared a new self-portrait from my wallflowers series, let me hold your heart like a flower, with my patrons early access this morning. That will become public in a month.

"Animals give me more pleasure through the viewfinder of a camera than they ever did in the crosshairs of a gunsight. And after I've finished "shooting," my unharmed victims are still around for others to enjoy. I have developed a deep respect for animals. I consider them fellow living creatures with certain rights that should not be violated any more than those of humans." ~Jimmy Stewart

Fortunately they weren't very timid, so they let me take photos of them without much trouble!!

In the morning I wake up

the shadows of the dream spin in my head

it was a dark nightmare

The sun shines on my face

the birds sing a silent melody

where is the reality?

As I sit alone, I wonder.

Will I see them again, ever?

Their idle presence,

overwhelmed my very existence.

And yes, they left without a trace,

with a finality that was a disgrace.

As I lie awake, I wonder.

Am I making another blunder?

Letting others take their spot.

with likely the same upshot.

Secretly wishing these do me some harm.

and make parting more of a charm.

The Thought-Fox

I imagine this midnight moment's forest:

Something else is alive

Beside the clock's loneliness

And this blank page where my fingers move.

Through the window I see no star:

Something more near

Though deeper within darkness

Is entering the loneliness:

Cold, delicately as the dark snow

A fox's nose touches twig, leaf;

Two eyes serve a movement, that now

And again now, and now, and now

Sets neat prints into the snow

Between trees, and warily a lame

Shadow lags by stump and in hollow

Of a body that is bold to come

Across clearings, an eye,

A widening deepening greenness,

Brilliantly, concentratedly,

Coming about its own business

Till, with a sudden sharp hot stink of fox

It enters the dark hole of the head.

The window is starless still; the clock ticks,

The page is printed.

Feng Shui. The art of placement in the home and garden.

Remember that the fountain, pond or water feature is the home of the `Water Dragon`. This establishes and encourages the flow of chi through your home and garden....

Thought for today: " Feng Shui is the art of placement. Now think of this: You are in the Right Place at the Right Time. No matter what is happening to you right now...just Know...that You are in the right place according to to Universal Law. Thank the Universal laws right now for the fact that you are Here...and that You are a Very Special Person and have a Very Special Place here on Earth"
